What I would NOT do:

First, I would not create a new thread asking a Frequently Asked Question. Next, I would not take any of the suggestions in this thread so far, because they lack necessary detail concerning brand/prices, and because none of them so far use up all of your cash. I have answered this same question many times with an exact breakdown of brands/prices, so instead of answering again, I will point to my sig and mention that the combined street value of my mods new is $1500, which is good enough for 12.3-12.4 on 93oct and 12.0-12.1 on race gas.
First of all, if ppl quit asking questions these forums would die a rather quick death, so lets quit with the admonishments OK? The guy prolly has already read a ton of discussions about the topic but wanted to post his very own question

As far as your mods go, they prolly work fine for you but they are not the end all or perfect solution for everybody. Your times are good and you obviously know how to drive, but there have been guys out there running in the 12's with nothing more than an exhaust, MBC and SAFC.

Personally, I've had a good bit of experience with modifying EVOs.... I learned a few very expensive lessons and I can share what I found to be safe, effective and without penalty of driveability, comfort, etc. I suggest a Vishnu XEDE and custom tune by a good tuner familiar with XEDE and with a good dyno. Whith the remaining cash, I'd still suggest driver improvement in the form of lessons, track time, etc. Oh yeah, not everybody should be concerned with 1/4 mile times either. Those are generally more related to drivers' skill rather than modifying the car, just the same as fast track times, etc.

Oh yeah, most of the mods listed by most ppl will result in a slightly more powerful EVO but very likely an ill running, loud, unreliable POS. Oh yeah, probably the worst expense would be the installtion of any aftermarket BOV followed by the K&N "intake oil-fouler". After that it all goes down hill at various rates of speed depending which modifications path you choose to follow

I demand at least 5 gold stars!
That list was terrible, because paying $1100 for an exhaust is retardation at its best. You should only pay $550-600 for an exhaust (Megan or LPI), which is why I said none of the responses so far were worth a damn. Why in the world would you suggest a Perrin exhaust that costs a combined $1100??? That's certainly not a good way to spend $1500-2000...

What do you mean by this? Nothing "more" than an exhaust, MBC, and safc? That's what I have...and I'm running 12.0s, not just "12s." I ran 12.8 with just an SAFC, so I'm not sure what point you're making here.

My bad, I should have said that ppl had already been running 12's with your mods. Oh yeah, they were doing it with '03s.... Your car has a lot more power stock than some of the '03s have with mods..... Anyway, my point is that your mods are not necessarily the best solution for everybody. If you had put just the XEDE and a good tune in your car you'd be within 10 whp of what you have now. Oh yeah, if you had the race gas map in the XEDE, you would be making more power than you are making now at the flip of a switch and you'd probably be running better 1/4 ET's & TS's anyway, plus your car would be exactly like stock except for the extra power.... You said that nobody but you had given the correct answer. Well, first of all, there is not "one" correct answer... Second, I think my suggestion is better than yours because it will make more power with less hassle and downsides, plus it'll improve the driver

Well, the Perrin wasn't in my original list. It came about as a substitute of simply saying a TBE.

Yes you could get exhausts for more. Or less. To justify the price, I think you'd best talk to Perrin. I could have suggested a less expensive exhaust and added a set of rotors.

I think you need to perhaps relax a little.

Does it not bother you that no one. Not a single person, who has posted on this thread has given the 'correct' answer except for, of course youself. And yours and yours alone is the solution? Odd that isn't it? Considering that these are, after all, opinions.

May I point out that brake mods are among the most effective value wise (not least cos you'll have to get a new set eventually). This was not in your list if I translated correctly....

So, there you go, I think it's important, you don't. I don't think we need to go flaming each other for the next few hours about the merits of each way of thinking.

Therefore I began my own thread asking WHAT "I" wanted to know. THe people who don't wanna answer, don't have to. But with all the people on this forum, there are bound to be people who would be willing to reply.

Thanks.
It is odd. I have seen this _exact_ same question posted here at least twice since I joined... and I do not read these forums every day, so I am certain that I have missed it a few times. Warrtalon was correct in urging you to use the search feature of the board.
