Toluene is great, but it goes up in price as oil prices climb. I'm fortunate enough to have blue flame sunoco dealer about 3 miles from my house, I can get 112 octane gas for 7.80 a gallon if I want to run that map.

Why can't i live some place sweet like you?! Stupid north dakota and the Air Force that's keeping me here

Agreed. This stuff works and I spoke to a company rep. and he said it will raise a tank of gas 3 -7 octane numbers (not points). Also, Torco Accelerator is great too.

No tangent here, if you can't lean out your mix it's not going to help you.

Do you know if this stuff has that chemical that coats your plugs & o2's orange/red? I used to use STP's octane booster in the mid 90's with my 87 GN and it was pretty effective but it did give you that orange/red coating though. Our gas was much better back then and now it really sucks.

STP in the orange bottle works awesome. When i was gettin tuned the first time i was the only one that tuned like 93 when everyone else tuned like 91. So i think it works very well IMO

I actually ran a bottle of Turbo 108 (Big one) last tank and the smaller orange bottle of stp with last night's tank. The difference is very noticable. Turbo 108 cost me $5.99 at Pepboy's and STP costs $2.87 at Walmart. I'll probably run STP once more and then pull the plugs to make sure they're not as orange as the bottle I am diggin the quicker spool up, stronger power band & smoother idle. I still managed 20.6 mpg while being DRIVEN.

back from the dead

here is my problem. I just had my ECU dynoflashed for 92 and my damn gas station (and the rest in my area) droped to 91. Reading up on some of these articles and threads and then looking at the bottles, my question is this. For anyone using these octane boosters, how often do you poor them in your tank? The bottle i looked at before i started this post said use one bottle with something like 15 refills in the tank??? Does that seem right to anyone? Also, will it really help? I'd like to get back to 93 like we had in the summer.

Do you need to mix any other lubricants/oils with toluene? Or do you just mix pure toluene with the octane from the pump?
