Turbo reliability

I've got a simple question how hard is it to blow the turbo or the motor on the EVO? like if I boosted the PSI and added some mods and then dragged the car would I eventually hurt something big like the engine or turbo? I'm asking this question because a friend of mine blew his turbo on his GSX eclipse and I don't want that happening to me.

I just got my factory turbo replaced along with the entire engine. Free under warranty of course. Car was/is 100% stock when the damn thing starting making a terrible knocking noise from inside the block under normal driving conditions w/out previous abuse! Oh well, now i have a 0 mile engine with a 10,000 mile chassis.

Mitsu's turbo is very stout. For almost a year now I have been leting it spike to over 30 PSI and fall to whereever. Of course I have Meth Inj otherwise the turbo would have melted already :P
The most important thing is to have it properly tuned.

im very surprised to see that but thank mistu for the warranty.......any way the 4g63 has been around for quite a while now they've fixed most if not all the problems with it, and it really has become almost bullit proof some cars now making in xs of 700awhp. it really takes a lot to hurt one of these unless there was something wrong from the factory which is few and far between. in other words i wouldn't worry about it unless out running like 46 bar and spraying like a million shot.

The stock turbo will be fine up to 30 psi....but at that rate it is just a hair dryer... 25-27 psi is about the maximum power you can get (with race fuel or Alky)
