Over 50, ex V8 guys, . . . Get in Here!
Evo. more space/room/practical. awd+turbo. IMO i like turbo cars, esp. when they're awd and 4 doors like the evo
for me the Evo is a great daily, since i drive an integra with very stiff springs and dropped 2'' right now...the Evo feels like my old 6th gen Accord sedan on the highway/streets....very comfy/not noisy IMO.
the only thing stopping me is that the vette is only a 2 seater and n/a. but to each his own, some ppl are n/a peeps at heart.
good luck and tell us ur decision at the end and post pix of ur new car
thanks.

I am over the half century and love my EVO. I was born in Ridgecrest too by-the-way.
If you're going through the mid-life thing and are looking for a chick getter, get the Vette. If you just want to get through the daily bs with a smile on your face, get the EVO. I told my sister about it and she went out and bought one (she lives in Tehachapi now)
I have handed a few '02, 03, 04 vettes their a$$es on the highway with the EVO and can make a right turn at 35 mph (right lane to right lane and not swinging wide). I gave my wife my custom painted, built '97 Thunderbird when I bought the EVO and almost never drive it any more. This thing is just too much fun.
Oh, another thing, you can mod a bit and pull 320ft of torque (at the wheels) with a fairly stock car.

Over 50 here as well. I own an 05 Evo now and also owned an 01 Z06. I bought the Corvette new and put 40,000 miles on it. Yes, the Corvette is faster. It really does have quite a bit more pure power then the Evo, however, the Evo is very fun to drive.
A standard C6 or an MR? Hmmm, tough choice....
FWIW, I traded the Corvette in on a Nissan Titan (to tow my Z28 race car) and kept the Evo so I guess I made my choice, although part of that may be that my wife likes the Evo better.
