Good Question. Price varies. Different color will be more money. I figure $1800-3000 for nothing too crazy.

If Mitsu doesn't warranty my paint job on my '05, i may find out how much a paint job cost sooner more than later.

 

its like 4k to just paint the outside
and like 6k to do it right , engine bay etc...

 

6 grand? Damn, I thought like half that.

 

It depends who ya know and how much of the work you do yourself. You can really get it down if you have a booth and a buddy that can paint.

 

ok, SERIOUSLY ... friend of mine just done his repaint for his RSX at local LA here. the paint was A grade, only outside no engine bay. And whole thing cost him $780.

And if you dont need A grade paints ... whole thing only cost you 299 + tax or without tax if you know them. Thank you Amigos and Chinese!


BTW he paid $780 coz he wants to match factory quality + 3 years no fade warranty.


so in your case, Id probably shop around for the best price in your area. coz $3k for repaint is too rich for my blood ....

This is about what I have been quoted. Price's Collision Center said $2850. A local guy that has a good reputation and has painted some very nice showcars quoted me $1600. That's for 4 coats of red, 4 coats of clear blocked/sanded between each coat. I would be staying with the factory color.

I have a RR '03 and the pink factory paint sucks...not to mention the 20 or so stone chips in the front. Ill probably get it resprayed next summer...then I'm getting that clear bra about 2 minutes after the paint has fully cured.


BUT!! If you want to chage the color, then add about $800 for engine bay, doorjams, etc.

 

Im glad my good ole buddy has a body shop cause its only costing me the paint.....$175.00 his cost....I'm going silver with painted graphics to all black .............

 

If you want it perfect (complete under hood, trunk, interior, glass and full interior removal, you're looking at $8~$12k for the best quality.

 

Just painting the exterior I would say somewhere around 2,500 bucks depending upon the complexity of the mixture, number of coats, etc.

If you want engine bay, trunk, etc its going to cost a lot more.

 

dude dont do it. DONT DO IT. aftermarket paint will never be like stock, as much as stock mitsu paint sucks ***.... unless you are willing to drop big money like 6k or more for a real QUALITY one. Even then, im not so sure.

One tip, if you plan on going NOT FULL OUT 6K paint job, you should consider painting it a really light color. Colors that are kinda reflective is NOT good for aftermarket paint because the reflection easily shows uneven sprays (oversprays or bumpy). Bad quality paint shows the worst on Black. Red is pretty bad too. White = no problem.

yeah, you say like $300 thats like a maaco paint job. your talking custom paint, you want it to last.

 

but yes, i was looking for the same. $3000 is around the price for a decent paint job, and thats just decent. I cant afford that much either, so i decided silver isnt that bad.

 

Dam those are some steep prices Just to spray the outside should cost you no more than 1500 less than 1000 if you bring it there prepped
