Unhappy engine question

my girl was just asking me just right now over the phone about a squeeking noise on her engine and also when she lets off the gas for neutral, the car seems to almost shutdown. i know this is an evo forum, and i do have the car but she has a automatic celica. i'm guessing it might be the belt in the alternator whether its loose or it's wearin' out. opinoins pls. no bull$hit comments.

Most likely it's the belts. Alternator,A.C. and P/s belt. High mileage ?

Probably worn out so it's stretched and became loose.

it is hard to diagnose something without actually being there but my guess would be that the squeeking is from the belts. have her go to the parts store and buy some lube for the belts and make sure they don't need replacing. as far as her car being an automatic, why is she going into neutral when letting off the gas? she may be due for a good tune up. plugs, cap and rotor etc... good luck.
