Anyone have this test pipe

Hey all

I was wondering if anyone has this thing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AAAQ%3AUS%3A1

It looks pretty good. $70 seems like a pretty good price.

Thanks

two things I saw..... they advertise mandrel bend.... lol, it's a straight piece of pipe. The other is no cel. I don't care what you do mechanically to the rear 02 bung, how you angle it, how long you make it etc., some EVO's are still going to throw the cel. There is a possibility that your car will be one of those that throws a cel.

It would be easy to sell an inferior grade of stainless and advertise it as 304, it's hard to tell the difference until it's been on the car about a year and starts to deteriorate. Also, weld quality is another key thing you pay for when buying exhaust systems. Can't tell what the weld quality is on ebay.

Sounds like the UR test pipe is pretty good. I already have a cat back, will the increase in sound be significant with a straight through pipe? I know that it will defiantly be louder but I was wondering how much louder? Any idea how much in db?

I don't know about DB. but I have heard the sound of many evos with test pipes. It is freaking loud! When I changed to HFC it was much louder than my stock cat(I have the helix cat back). imagine with the straight pipe. But if you are using the stock catback, it won't be that loud. with my UR HFC and megan downpipe, It sounded pretty much the same with the stock catback on.

That is not true, i have run the UR Cat Delete pipe on both of my evo's 03 and an 05, and my friends 03, and it never threw the CEL. My roommates dad is a mechanic and he said the same thing but the way it is angled does not trigger the wrong path and gases for the o2 sensor to throw the code.

so you have a mechanic (your friends dad) and an engineer (me ) telling you something that you want to dismiss because of a three car sample pool? I say you got lucky, I unfortunately did not, and threw the cel.

Do a search and you will find plenty of people that the mechanical fix did not work for. And you will find plenty of people using plenty of different cat delete pipes with the same issue. Don't take my word for it, do a search and see for yourself.
