Brake Bleeding...

I was wondering if anyone has bled their breaks out themselves ? I was looking at putting some stoptech SS lines on my brakes. The question i had is how much fluid does it take to replentish your master cylinder and brake lines ? I baught some Motuls RBF 600 and when i put my brake lines in i wanted to put the new fluid in. So how much will i need ?

heres what i kno to bleed the brakes. always bleed the brakes (wheels) thats fartest to the brake master which is the rear brakes than work your way around to the nearest brakes. always have a partner help you out on the bleeding ( press three times and hold it while you release the bleed screw) thats my 2 cents.

go buy some easy bleeders, you open them up and pump away no need to keep closing them.

when i bleed mine i bleen the entire system till all i get is fresh clean fluid. takes a little longer but well worth it in my opinion.

For just a normal bleed it doesn't take much fluid. But you're going to be replacing brake lines and introducing air into the system. It could take two quarts or more. Don't stop until that pedal competely firms up and bubbles stop coming out. Also don't forget to do both nipples on all the calipers.

FYI - the bleed order in an Evo is odd - if you search the how-tos or the brakes/suspension section I've posted it up quite a few times.
