There's no answer, because you will replace all the stock suspension if you autocross and will replace the turbo and all engine parts if you drag race. Btw, having a 6spd doesn't necessarily help when autocrossing. It can be a negative if the course is fast enough that you regularly go over 55mph, since you may then have to shift to 3rd, which is a bad thing.

first, why would you drag an evo? second, the 6 speed is not necessarily better. it depends on the track.

the same reason why john sheppard drags his awd tsi... bc he can, dead stop and dumping the clutch and going is awesome feeling.. on stock tires or some good stick tires * not slicks or radicals*

but i got the impression the mr is slower in the quater mile.. or is it bc there is a lack of them around? i just saw a post of one going in to the 11's.... evo 8 and 9 do low or mids 12 stock right?

i think he is all confused... the mr is harder to race on the drag strip, aside from the shifting difficulties with a gear and coming back to third to turn for the road course the GSR to me is all around better....

The MR is easier to race on the drag strip up until the point where you start trapping 111mph, then it becomes a PITA. On the road course, I do a lot of shifting, yes, but I'm also always right in the meat of the powerband once I figure out which gear is best coming out of each turn.

but i didnt know which gearing would be better for drag and autotrac.. autotrac is something i've always wanted to do but never did bc of my current set up ( long gear and etc)
