woah wait 270 whp STOCK? there's sumthin wrong here. Vishnu did another thread and they use the Dynojet and a stock IX = 230-240 whp. Unless u got a flash then sumthin is wrong here

No they don't use a dyno jet, they use a DD which reads lower than dyno jets. Stock VIIIs dyno anywhere from 205-215WHP on Vishnu's dyno, the three stock IXs have dynoed at 238WHP, 234WHP, and another at 234WHP.

^Very nice numbers you got there, but by all means that is not the norm for VIIIs.

Hova -- what gear was the dyno pull done in? Waiting so I can compare mine when I goto X.

BTW: For anyone who wants some comparison of a VIII vs a IX on the same Dyno, here are some plots from my old 03 EVO VIII done on the SAME EXACT dyno at Xotic Motorsports last year. The dynos are on a completely bone stock EVO VIII.

hmm, i wonder how much my car is putting down then.

I have an 05 MR thats dynoflashed and i've upgraded all the IC piping (LPI) (i put a walbro 255 in before the flash as well)

the upper won't be of much help but I know the lower helps with hp.

When the 9's came in I drove an RS and mine felt much stronger up top. I let my salesman (who im cool with) drive mine and he agreed that mine felt much stronger than the new 9's

does that mean i may be over 270whp? :O

yeah no kidding man how to you get 270whp on a factory 286hp crank? I would expect around 230-240whp depending on dyno calibration and what dyno you use. There is a 20-30% loss of power through most AWD/4WD cars drive lines.
