turboback help!

i just installed an RSR turboback a week ago... i didn't drive the evo due to the severe snow... i drove evo around town and highway today... and i noticed..my gauges all reads normal...20psi and such with the turboback... i see it BUT I DON"T FEEL IT... my car has little or no acceleration...especially on 4th and 5th gear... can anyone tell me whats wrong?.... with all the mods i don't so far... i haven't had it tuned yet...thats one of the scenerios i thought of... could it be something else???

i am very disapointed at the result...it made the evo slower... what can i do?

It would be good if you had something concrete to compare it to (baseline dyno, track times) you can't always trust the butt dyno... what other mods do you have? For reference, I picked up 25whp from my TBE alone, and it didn't _feel_ significantly different until I raced my brother's WRX and pulled on him a LOT harder than before...

i mean... with turboback vs no turboback... my butt dyno feel like i lost hp rather than gain hp... because it didn't accelerate at all!

Did you re-set your ecu? Disco your battery. Re-check all your gaskets and make sure you don't have a leak.

check for leaks, boost and exhaust. If that doesn't work for you, you should really get it tuned on a dyno. Not only will you make more power but it can tell you if something is wrong.

I feel the same thing now that I installed my TBE, it's like I lost HP. This is my only mod so far, so there are no other variables involved. I read normal boost on my gauges, but I don't feel it as before. Now I feel third as a useless gear, I think it's the most affected one. Do I need to reset the ECU after a TBE?

you are feeling a loss in torque. this has been covered before. the factory muffler had a backpressure plate in it to increase the torque. without backpressure, you'll have less torque.

Do you have a boost controller? If so, turn up your boost. If not, get one...

Why the hell would you want to choke your motor on purpose?

2.75" vs 3" has been beaten to death. Buschur did a test with the same car, same day, and found no significant increase in torque with a smaller diameter downpipe.
