If the question is "would you trade if it was the same price you got your end of run 05" then the answer would be a resounding yes. But I saved thousands of dollars (0% financing, $1500 under invoice on my 05 RS) by getting my 05 just when I knew that the 06's were on their way to the dealerships.

I'm with everyone else. We obviously don't want to lose all the money on the trade in/mods we put into our VIII's. I'm still rocking the "first gen" I always liked 1st gen DSM's better anyway.

 

I already paid for my VIII and I'm keeping it If someone traded me straight up, then maybe, but I don't feel like another car payment. At the very least my car is still faster than a stock IX MR from a roll But man, he almost kept up with me

 

Naaaa, the way I see it, and this is only my opinion, this is how I feel. I have the VIII which is the first one that Japan allowed us to finally have. It holds more of a sentimental value. Sure the IX has pro's but when the X comes out then what? We touched on this topic in our forum. When I first viewed Al's post re IX 375hp on basic mods, I was like "WTF?" but now I'm back to reality and appreciate my VIII even more.

 

me personally i am waiting to see what the supposed all new body style evo x is going to look like. i have seen the concepts but you never know until you see the production version.

 

i chose no under the assumption that the parts that i put into my VIII would not go into the IX and that i would owe more $ trading for the IX (not an even trade).



if i got all the same parts on the IX and i didn't owe any more $ then ya i would.

 

no i will not trade, i paid 29 grand for my VIII rs and i am extremely happy with it.

 

Traded my 05 GG MR for 06 GG MR IX, happy so far but I only have 200 miles on it.....

 

Ill wait til I find a EVO 9 complete head and ecu and put that sucka in with what ever else is necessary ..pretty sure it will bolt right up..just like doing an ls vtec on a honda engine hahaha

I voted no. Besides, I'll seriously look at the X when it comes out, with all of its upgrades, & this craze will start over again. Then there's the Skyline coming too.....

 

maybe flat out trade no cash involved but trade into the dealer and pay 5k more for a ix hell no....ill just go with stupid^^^

 

I want to keep both have the best of both worlds that's where its at

 

If I had the time and money to mod the IX then maybe...otherwise, NO. I've spent too much time on the VIII so I'll keep her.
