Ship date of July 2002!!!
Just got off the phone with my dealer. Here's what he told me.
The Evo 7 has a ship date of JULY 2002. Ship date is the date the first shipments LEAVE the plant. You have to include shipping time, and any time they sit @ the docks awaiting clearance, and also shipping to the dealers.
He also confirmed that the TM edition WOULD NOT be making it, but we would be seeing yellow (which is the color he plans on getting for himself).
Ship Date: July 2002
Arrive Date: ????
hmmm maybe before JAN 2003?

Damn I hope these dealers would be smart about getting colours, cause damn red and yellow ones
I dunno about that here in the US. Yellow is just too bright like the lexus yellow. and red well red evos should only be TM editions.
. I think the yellow and red are too flashy for here in the US. If i was in Jamaica then that would be a different issue. I would def go for those colours. Black, Silver, Blue, White, Red, Yellow ....probably the order i would prefer my evo colour. Driving up to someone in a silver or black evo, and they thinking its just some normal car, until u move off and all they here is just the turbo spooling up, not even engine noise....and then pppsssshhhh and your gone
would be so fun.
Guess all dealers getting in Jan 2003, some dealers around me said the same, shipped in fall 2002 reach the lots in Jan 2003

You know, what's really funny to me...is that a dealer that I know is saying that he is expecting a spring 2002 shipment...so were talking May, 2002
so here we go again....just got to wait and see......Man I would love to have a blue EVO but will settle for a silver one...got the french blue color already.

Mitsubishi often does put cars on the lot before an official launch date.
I remember when I bought my 2000 Eclipse, my dealer had cars in July. The car officially was released the first week in September.

Well I know Yellow will be too flashy, but I'll take mine in Yellow. I mean, yellow attracts attention, some unwanted too, like cops. Basically no need to speed in the Evo, most of them should know, all these GSRs and even supras are no real match for this car. So they better just stay away. I love the Evo vs Supra TT video.
Anyway, yellow is a great color, bright, attracts attention, and well...its a cool color. Red...well I'd say red is too much of a crazy woman driver color. Black is just so depressing, so is white. Silver is ok, but its becoming extremely common. Blue is ok.
My basic choices are first Yellow, if yellow isn't available, then Gunmetal Grey.
And great news on the car, you guys, don't worry, there will be plenty of cars for everyone. So you can just take it easy and start saving your pennies cause you'll need em.

Evo VII will not be coming to the USA this winter!!
I just wanted to let everyone know the information that my partners and myself have been told by Mitsubishi.
As of right now, there will be no Evo VII coming to the USA, at all!
Mitsubishi is going to be bringing the Evo VIII to the USA Summer of 2003!
If you find this hard to believe, just call any Mitsubishi Dealership in the country and ask them when they expect to be getting the Evo. If the dealership you are asking is "In the know" then they will tell you that they have nothing coming until Summer 2003.
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I just want to make sure that everyone can get their deposits back, because the Evo VII is NOT coming to the USA this winter.

Hmmm. Mitsubishi has only made one official announcement that I know of, at the LA Auto Show. And that clearly stated 1st quarter 2003. What you are saying is that their one official statement is WRONG. I can believe you, or believe what Mitsubishi has OFFICIALLY stated. Not saying you're wrong, but I'm sticking with their statement until they rescind it.
