If your oil is hot, it will have more pressure, which will cause the oil light to come on. The oil light is designed to sense oil pressure, either high or low, not oil level (that's what a dipstick is for). it doesn't work like a gas gage sensing the level.

I don't see how I was being disrespectful.
Just because I don't feel like typing out your cra$[*y] a$z user name makes me disrespectful?

See if you can find a bad 02 sensor at a local shop that has been thrown away. You can screw that in to plug your hole. Probably for free.
hot (within the range we are interested in below say 300 F) oil will not have more pressure, or at least more measurable pressure. First, the crankcase vent will keep things in check. Secondly, the vapor pressure of oil is very high, and doesn't change measurably at these temperatures. Bigfishs, you got my back on that last statement?

Vapor pressure of oil really only gets high when you get close to its boiling point. Dont know what the boiling point of 5W30 is, but I'd be surprised if it was much below 500F

Any idea of a good torque to use to hold the DP to the turbo O2 housing, using normal bolts (not the OEM ones with springs couldnt seem to get them in)?
I went to around 45ftlbs and they felt pretty tight at that, no leaks. The DP has a flex section in it.
Anybuddy sell the o2 bung screw caps? Mine departed the testpipe at around 80 mph on the highway
as I forgot to tighten it. I tried to get an 18 mm spark plug to plug it, but cant get one locally. I am making a makeshift one up by having the end of a spark plug antiflouler welded shut.
I know an M18 x 1.5 bolt will do it, but you have to special order them, like the spark plugs.
Aside from a few fitment issues I love the Megan TBE
. Talk about a difference on going from stock exhaust to full TBE

I have a Megan DP as well. I couldn't get it to fit right for about an hour. Then my buddy walkes over and tears the stock metal braided O-ring off the 02 housing. Since my Megan DP came with a built in O-ring (yours might have too... Gold tin foil is what it looked like), i wasn't aware that i needed to remove the stock one. After that, the DP slid on like a champ allowing me to use the stock bolts with springs. No leaks, no issues, and bolts are still held tight as stock. Hope that helps you?
yeah I removed the old one. I couldnt get the spring ones started for some reason, and Zeus said to use the hardware suppilied. It doesnt leak, I just didnt want to overtighten the bolts.

Hey, how do you like the megan TBE? I was thinking of purchasing a TBE after the holidays. I have a child and don't want it too loud. I have a full exhaust on my civic and am planning on removing it for loudness issues.
Give me your opinion. Thanks.

If you leave the plug in the mullfer it is really quiet (but you are cutting your hole down to maybe 2 inches at the end), like stock.
Take it out and it is definitely louder at idle, and a bit of drone at 3.5K. Not really that loud at WOT, I have heard many louder fart cans
I plan to leave the silencer bit in to get better gas mileage until the end of winter. I will leave it in for long highway journeys.
Then when its racing time, take it out. It comes out with a 10 mm spanner and alan key in 2 mins.
The system feels like it makes great power. Ist and 2nd gear are nuts with just a flash and TBE
In summer when I want to

My goal is to just make 300 whp. No flaming......i know different dyno's make different hp and ET times are better. Just a personal goal of mine. I'm stock right now, but want to leave it that way until i get some more milage on it. Just don't want any warranty issues until i know everything is working well. Only have 2700 miles on it now.

I went with my Megan DP to a straight pipe with my stock tip welded on to the end. No cat, no muffler, no nothing.. Just straight 3" pipe all the way back as if it were a really long Down Pipe. Sounds mean as hell! Only cost me $55 bucks mounted and madrel bent with flanges too!

I tried the megan website, and th megan thread, and the search revealed way too many unambiguous hits.
Dafarmer, warrtalon, gregg, blonde, timbitz?anyone?
Are those questions really that stupid and have been answered loads of times?
