Service people Calling

I was just wondering if anyone else got phone calls from mitsubishi/e-mails saying that their EVO was due for an oil change or service? i think they should just get rid of that all together, and save some money. instead of having people call cell phones/home phones to make sure we service or vehicle. i think most of us are capable of either remembering or doing it out selves. anyone else get calls?

it's a common practice. The dealerships will have a service dept. staff, and if they're sitting around doing nothing, waiting on customers to show up, why not have them call/e-mail to try and drum up business?

Yeah i mean honestly i drive my EVO quite a bit, but not to work and back i have a turd car for that, last year i put on 11,000 miles and now its in storage for winter, but i still get calls saying that i am due for a 15,000 miles service blah blah blah. i mean yeah its pretty cool that the keep us updated, but i think i got like 4 calls over the summer, what would be real nice is if they would call us and say hey we got GT35R kits on sale and in stock at the dealership and we will fully warranty it and install it for you for $2000

I get things in the mail every couple of weeks saying to come in for my oil changes

For some reason they've been really nice and changing my oil free every 2500-3000 miles

When i bought the car they said it was free every 5000 miles. Maybe I lucked out?

I get calls, mail, and email. It just gives them something to do when it's slow.

yeah they are just going to send you one big bill at the end of the year thats pretty sweet how many would you say that you got for free since you owned the car? Plus you got an 05. when did you buy it? before april? then you qualify ig not don't say nothing tot he dealership they are screwing up take it for all its worth man

am i wrong that there are only 7 actual free maint. things that mitsu does if you have the free service? it goes all the way up to like 30,000 miles or better i think tho? can someone correct me if im wrong please i rememebr seeing the sheet, but dont recall what it is or how many miles it goes up to maybe i should try and get a copy from the dealer and post it up here

The maint program only changes oil at specific intervals. Most people are on a schedule that makes it so thst they have to pay for every other oil change and MItsu pays for the rest. As for reminder calls and follow up calls, it is designed for customers that are busy and need the reminder. We hire an outside company to do our reminders and it is based off of the service history of the customer. They don't know if you store your car for winter or not. All they know is that based on history of services that you MIGHT be at a certain mileage or that you MIGHT be due for a certain service. They don't know and/or don't care if you only drive to bragging meetings or if you store it for any length of time. It's areminder not a crystal ball. Mitsu corporate only calls if you have had any warranty work done, to do a CSI servey to better help the dealers to help serve YOU better. If you don't ever go to a dealer and participate in the process then you are hindering that program, not helping it.

GUys and Gals,

I know this can be annoying, but we (the dealerships and service departments) are just trying to keep your maintenance up to speed and your service business with us! Most of this is automated or it is through a third party company!

No harm meant... hope you guys understand!

Oh by no means am i complaining i was just wondering, i mean for one 30-35K is a lot to spend on a car and i do appreciate the calls its pretty sweet, it would be even better if they picked it up, but then some Joe Schmo would have to drive my car to and from the dealership, and thats not going to happen thats for sure.

Mark i can see that it is helpful, but hey if someone buys an EVO and they don't get oil changes, well its their own fault, and even if something breaks due to this and they say that they changed the oil themselves, well then tuff luck you have no record of it and shouldnt warranty it is what i think.

oh yeah i was wondering tho if they void your warranty, does that include the free service stuff to?

1 year 3 months.....and I just moved so my commute went from too long to too short. ...I WAS averaging 25000miles a year now it is probably 2500.. as of today it has 32000. When I sold my 03 it had 37000 after a year. lol

"and no they told me its free for the first 50k miles. "
That's good to hear...I get one extra service.....but my place only does the FREE service on a non severe schedule....I have to pay for in between oil changes.
