Car down for 10 months....

Long story short and I right now I do not have the ability to drive me car. So for right now regularly i start my car let it run for about 15 minutes, give a quick cool pullls and let it cool down. I have been doing this for the last 3 months. Is there anything that you suggest I do to keep the car in tip top shape for when I can start driving the car again it will be good.

The mods that are goin on are:

1) HKS 264
2) 660 injectors
3) 20g9 Buschur Turbo
4) RnR manifold
5) coilovers
6) Streetcocept cf hood OEM systel
7) and a complete re-painting

Any suggestions. Does anyone suggest a good out/indoor car cover

The oil will get diluted with gas faster so you should look at changing it every three months. Watch your tire pressures. The tires will be out of round if they stay in one place so you might want to jack up and roll the tires to a new spot.

Short of what you are already doing, not much. I would change the oil every three months even though you are not driving it incase there is any condensation in the engine. I would also move the car a little every so often so its not sitting on the same place on the tires. Car covers are a little tricky because of the wing & antena (reg. lancer cover or small car cover won't fit). I would get the Mitsu car cover, if not make sure you get one that "breaths" so moisture doesnt get trapped on your paint. Good luck.

If you know anybody who you can trust to drive it periodically, I'd go that route.

Just put fresh plugs in it when you can drive it again. They will get fouled from the cold start enrichment.

Other than that, should be good to go with fresh oil.

Another little storage tip. Put a towel inside the tip of the muffler, this keeps moisture from going in the back door.

Okay, then put a plastic bag around the tip and seal with a rubber band...my point is a personal tip that I tested on my last 3 cars, as I store my fun car in the winter.

With out the towel, I noticed in the spring(after storage without the towel) I had my head removed and did notice a little rust on the top of the pistions even though I started the car every 3 weeks. I did a little research and picked this tip up from many boards. After cleaning the rust off and adding the head mods, I vowed when winter comes again I am going to do a towel(bath size) in the tip/canister. Ofcourse when the head came off, the folowing spring, no rust, so I guess it worked for me.

Ofcourse some air got thru the cover over the tip and the towel in the canister, but alot of the moisture stayed out...and thats good for storage!

the plastic bag sounds fine, but the pistons are aluminum and won't rust.

Are you planning on getting an aftermarket intercooler for that new turbo? Do you by chance have an aftermarket LICP for the stock IC you want to get rid of?

My point was not that the pistons them selves were rusting, but there were deposits of rust on top of the pistons, illustrating that there was moisture getting in. I also bagged my conical filter on the inake side...and has seemed to work well.

If you are really worried about mositure you could place some silca gel in there and and block it up with a bag. Could do the same in the intake.
