Why is it that with the EVO we mostly run 100% Methanol/Alcohol? On my old car 300ZX TT I had a 30% Methanol/ 70% water. I was told then that I was getting great cooling from the methanol and water. Also as the water evaporated and it introduced more oxygen in to the cylinders.

I trust our tuners whole heartedly and know that they are making our cars fast while maintaining reliability. This post is by no means questioning the way that they tune. I am just curious as to why we go about it the way we do.

100% Methanol/ Alcohol makes me think it is just being used as a fuel additive. It kind of goes against the whole cooling effect that methanol is suppose to provide. Matt Snow of snowperformance told me that you start losing the cooling effect after a 50/50 mix of Methanol and water.
