I am insane washing my car. I even had my neighbor whom I had never met before came over while i was washing my car like a month ago when it was freezing cold out. First thing out of her mind "Are you ok?!?!" Haha, she then proceeded to tell me she never washes her car, even when she threw up all over the side of her car the previous week. The rain I guess washes it. Yeah and then my other neighbor said i was going to wash the paint off it because i wash it so much. I would say i wash my car at LEAST once a week. I keep my car pretty immaculate. My car doesnt get dirty enough to wash it everyday. However I do towel it off after almost every single time I go out. The interior as well is immaculate.

Im the same way as far as making people wipe off shoes. If they are really dirty I usually use a plastic bag to put them in. I have made people change shirts before getting in my car. That or I have told people no ride in the evo in general because of the uncleanliness.

I sit out in the cold with a bucket sponge and towel Mr Miyagi style... but frozen, and ice crystals hanging all over my face!

I do like to keep underneath of it clean and salt free. Being clean under the hood is more important to me.. makes the car less of a hassle to work on.
How do you keep the underside of the car clean and what do you do to clean under the hood?

I use to be pesky about the cleaniness of my car. But I realized that no matter what you do, if you are driving it, its going to get dirty. I tried to be careful about parking, and people still dings my car. When you drive high speed, you can't stop that flying rock that chips off your windshield. And no matter how often I clearn the wheels, the break dust builds up again after just a few days. So I kind of gave up on that. Now I just wash about every 2~3 weeks time.

I dont worry about it to much. I wash my car about once a month or every other month depending on how dirty the car is. When I clean my car I spend about 6-8 detailing my car inside and out. My car is always parked outside, but all the rain and dust just seems to slide off. I guess its the wax I am using.
