Does Megan Catback fit 05MR

I am thinking of getting the megan Catback, seems like a good value, but I heard it may have some trouble fitting the MR. Any truth to this?

Warrtalon runs this on his '05 MR and speaks very highly of it. I'm sure he'll be along to comment.

Megan quality is very good, but the engineering side might not as good as other bigger manufactory. I had Megan Ex b4, now i have Buddy Club. Even tho Buddy Club have smaller pipe, i felt my car pull harder at higher rpm.

Smaller pipe, pulls harder... Seems odd to me.. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I hate answering this, because there are tons of people who run the Megan exhaust, many of which are 05s. The MR has a 6spd instead of a 5spd, but that has nothing to do with the cat-back. The cat-back portion of the exhaust is the same on all VIIIs (03-05), so the Megan cat-back will fit all 03-05 Evos perfectly.

I have a Megan TBE, and it is not a smaller pipe, nor does it "pull harder" than other 3" exhausts. It also doesn't lack any measurable amount of power as you can see by my signature.

I would assume that it would fit fine, but the reason I have asked is because I was reading the forum. Some people posted the Megan was not a perfect fit on the MR, others said they had no problem.

The question I was asking above was "how does the buddy club with a smaller pipe pull harder then the megan" It didn't seem logical to me.

I'd love to see where a megan cat-back didn't fit an MR, since the cat-back portion of an MR is exactly the same as the other models. Please link me to those threads.

I've never even heard of a buddy club exhaust; I didn't even know there was one. Even if there is one, never listen to someone who claims that one exhaust "pulls harder" than another. The butt dyno is a terrible gauge of power. Something like that has to be proven on the dyno or at the drag strip.

According Zeus the Downpipe portion of the Megan TBE has clearance issues with the 05 MR. I wanted to get in his group buy and was told he was out of MR downpipes. This conflicted with what I heard and read before. Maybe there's revisions that changed fitment? Here's where it's discussed: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=156544

Again, this guy only asked about the cat-back, and I specified "cat-back" in every response. As for downpipes, I haven't heard of any MR-specific DP, and I know that the one on my MR is just the standard DP. It fits fine with no rubbing or rattling, but there's more chances of the DP having issues than the cat-back due to the 6spd.

Maybe it's an 06 MR issue because when I asked Zeus about fitment on a 06 MR he said that he was not completely sure but would know soon. I was inquiring about the entire TBE, not just he CB.

I have a Megan racing TBE and it is a full 3inch no small spots in the exhuast. For the money I spent on this exhaust you cant match it period. Ive seen exhuast thats twice as much that didnt have the quality of the Megan Racing exhuast. I was scared to get it because of the price but after I had it in my hands I knew I made the right decision.

Again, that's an 06, not an 05 MR. That's why Zeus said he wasn't sure yet, because the IXs are so new.
