I really dont think AWD is capable of competing in a true dift event because you would need much more than 400HP and suspension/alignment specifically for drifting. I dont think I would want to ruin my EVO by making it a drift car. If drifting is your thing there are much better platforms that can be had for a few grand.
Sideways isn't the fastest way around the track.

See, you understand what I mean.
theres nothing wrong or stupid about drifting the evo. Some people think the evo is a mercedes or something and u cant have fun with it unless ur going WOT on a fwy. Like u mentioned, it IS a car that basically was raised in the WRC. Besides if you watch TopGear and fifth gear vidz they'll constantly say "the evo looovess going sideways" of course they have AYC, but drfting the evo is fun as hell esp in snow. I just wouldnt drift on the advans
I dunno about drifting in an Evo unless you have some major drivetrain work. Drifting is havoc on drivetrains. I know the ae86 drift machines usually upgrade the tranny and rear end to the celica-supra trans/rear-end.
Not saying that you couldn't. AWD drifts are very pretty and unique to watch in comparison to RWD drifts. I believe AWD cars are not allowed in the japanese drift series because they offer such an advantage in control over the RWD cars.

aww if only we had the switch/fuse that the r33 / r34 skylines had...but its actually pretty easy just use some clutch kick with a lil over powering technique and practice. i never use the e brake
Yall talk the talk but can you walk the walk?
Drifting the evo hmmm I feel its impossible the actually drift the car from 3rd gear and up because to make the car drift you have to be spinning the back tires. And IMO getting sideways in your car in 1st and 2nd gear isn't really considered "drifting".
Here are some videos of some slides and donuts and my car is still A OK!

If its wet or snowy then its not that hard on the drivetrain......
This kinda **** isn't hard on it at all: http://media.putfile.com/Jeff-Jeske-...liding-his-EVO

No you don't, you can easily initiate the drift with ebrake, scandi flick, or simple weight transfer at high speeds.
Yes, I am using my Advans, lol. It's because my TE37s are 18x9 and I can't reuse them.
