Are HID kits direct replacement?

Are HID kits direct replacement?
Is there any modification needed. I know that the evo bulbs are 9006. If I buy a 9006 kit from xenondepot, I just have to replace the bulb and find a place to install the ballast right. No clips needed. I know that with other cars you need to modify the clips to fit the HID bulb. Sorry for the noob question. I searched all over but I mainly got install pics or people talking about what kit they got.
no modification needed, i bought my hid conversion from blinglights.com, xenondepot is good also, it is direct plug and play replace bulbs with HID bulbs and plug it all in and mount ballast. Only problem i came across is the polarity on my kit pluging in from the lamp housing to hid kit needed to be turned around as to be plugged to correct polarity.
