I am shocked that it is not an MR color as well,........if they are going to do that they might as well make the MR in every color instead of just a sorry *** 4.

It no longer is exclusive as of the 06s. Now that regular non-MRs are made in GG, it can't be considered exclusive. You used to know that when you saw GG, it was definitely an MR. Now, it's just another color...

I know...it's funny how people do that, although you don't hear GTO owners say "look at my nifty monaro!"

I guess I can see that. In the same sense when they sold it , it was exclusive. But they change does kinda screw previous GG owners.

mitsu delivered its allocation of MRs at the beginning of the '06 model year, just as it did with the '05 MRs. at many dealerships, the GSRs began arriving a few weeks later. this may (partially) explain why there's an inordinate amount of IX MRs on the street now.

Anyone have an idea of how many 2006 IX MR's we got in the US? I'd guess a lot more than the 1000 of 2005.

I bought my IX MR because:

Resale value
BBS rims (no need to change to lighter aftermarkets)
More liveable suspension (add a rear sway bar of choice andbody roll is gone)

up to 1200 slated for USA. MR production is in the earlier shipment cycle so it may seem that MR's a all over the dealer lots but this will change as 2006 progresses.

Data is from a reliable source.

More MR's 'could' be made if demand is there, a lot of the parts are installed at the US port of entry (zero lift kit for example).

Having owned performance Mitsubishi cars for decades, I can tell you that anyone buying a Mitsubishi for resale value is sorely misguided. I personally bought a GG non-MR IX with SSL because I like a sunroof and I can make the car go a whole lot faster by spending the extra money on better than MR performance parts.
