What a difference a year makes

One year ago today I was in a helicopter on my way to hospital as a result of a car accident.
A lady came over the centerline and hit me head on.
Then I was hit head on by a 66000 pound grain truck.
My neck was broken in two places (C2 and C3).
I had a bad concussion. I was beat up from head to toe.
I missed 12 weeks of work.

Today I am driving the only evo in Western New York.(silver)
Life is unpredictable.

By the way this car is insane!
The reviews I read before I received my car were good but they did not prepare me for this car.
The commitment by Mitsubishi to make a real sports car is most impressive. $30,000? This car is unbelievable. So many car companies claim they have a great sports car but they fall short. They did not b.s. around with cheesy gimmicks. This thing is hardcore! I can't believe no one has described this car as go-kart like. The engine response, steering and braking are sick. When I described the engineering features to my (unknowing) friends they asked if it was less than $45,000.

wow, you went through hell, you deserve an EVO, or 2. have fun.

let me edit my last statement, i got a PM that thought "going through hell" was not a nice statement. anyway a lot happened to you last year, and you made it through, which i am very glad that you did. i think you deserve that EVO, drive carefully, and have fun with it.

Well, a year ago in your life, you probably thought that things could only get better.....and you would have been right!

In the next few months, you won't be the only guy driving a Silver Evo in Western NY. I'm originally from Rochester, except that I'll be picking mine up there and then driving in to Cali...heh heh. I was home 2 weeks ago..it was 20 degrees and windy. No thank you

Now you can appreciate the Evo AND life.

Actually the local dealership here in Rochester just sold their first Evo, a Blue by You. I was supposed to be the first but my Tarmac Black won't arrive until later this week or next week. That will make me the third (hopefully!)

atlvalet: Do you plan on buying your Evo at Carlisle Mitsu?

I'm not sure how many dealerships are in Rochester (I'm from Webster). All I know is that a good family friend's husband is the sales manager a (the?) local dealer, which pretty much assures me a good deal. Besides, I couldn't shut up about the Evo when I was talking with her when I was home

I'll find out which dealership it is (if there's more than one). For all I know, this guy could be charging ridiculous prices, it's just that I can probably swing a (in her words) "friends and family" deal. Personally I'm waiting to see what the '04 Evo will be like.

Besides, Van Boertel quoted my father 400 over invoice on an Sti. These dealers are crazy here in Cali. That's why I refuse to do business with them.

An Evo in Rochester? Have fun with all those Camaros and Mustangs in Greece.
