Hey Warr, while some of us appreciate your no-nonsense approach to answering questions and some of us enjoy reading you mock the moronic questions some people post on here, the back and forth arguing can turn a topic to crap really quick. Please keep that in mind for those of us that don't care to sift through the garbage to read the substance. Your point was taken by 98% of us on here the first time and there really isn't much of a reason for you to have to explain yourself to the remaining 2% 10 times over.

A no options Z28 or Formula is right at 3400lbs or below. A fully loaded WS6 is about 3500 lbs. Regardless, the fbody still has a better lb/rwhp ratio. It also has a solid axle and 6 spd which allow for better launches. I have heard of stockers running 12.5/12.6 with a lid.

Unfortunately, that's not possible. How is an SRT-8 going to get to 100mph 1.2s before an Evo IX? Also, an Evo IX can get to 107mph in 12.7s. It gets to 100 much faster than that. None of the numbers make sense even with this explanation.

I doubt that, 12.5 is insane.

Evan Smith from mm&ff ran 12.7 in one of the magazine test. That was in a '98 model which doesn't have the LS6 intake(+10hp). Add a lid(+10hp) and 12.5x is certainly doable.

Evan Smith didn't use slicks to run 12.7. Also, a '01-'02 model with a lid can trap 111mph......so, according to Warrtalon, 111mph is good enough for 12.5

Here is a link where they tested different lids on a '00 model (no LS6 intake)---www.motorsporttech.com/fbody_air_intake01.asp (click on airlid comparison) Notice they trapped 110.05 and also ran 12.9 with a crappy 2.1 60'. A good driver should be able to run 12.5x....especially with an extra 10hp from a LS6 intake.
