. If this guy hop into an enzo you still wouldn't call an upgrade. The evo is awesome machinary but why all the fanboy-ism? You are the worse fanboy ever. Every post I see your always chocking on the evo exhaust.
As you move up the socio-economic ladder, or move into a very traffic plagued metro area the realization hits you that there is so much more to driving then speed. The Evo is an amazing car for the track, drag strip or as a weekend cruiser, but as my tastes have softened, a nice Infiniti would be welcome. I love the G35 with its more aesthetic exterior design than many of its Japanese counterparts, or the Bangle BMWers. The VQ35 is as smooth a V6 you will encounter, rivaling even the inline 6s.
The interior creature comforts are amazing-- soft leather, heated seats, reclining rear seats, Bose stereo, Navigation, ultra smooth automatic transmission... the list could go on. The aftermarket is decent too-- and I believe once the R35 Skyline is released stateside, F.I. becomes much more viable. Even know with cast iron sleeves and titanium rods quite a bit of power can be extracted. Great choice and enjoy!

Are you considering trading yours?
Same here man..I sold the evo to get outta some major debts, and to focus on saving my money for my future marriage..blah blah...I was extremely sick over getting rid of the evo...but now that i dont have it, I can't stress on how happy I am to not buy 93 octane, to not worry if the car will run right the next day, to not worry if people are going to constantly "taunt" me on the road like it has happened to me almost everyday, to not get an oil change that costs over 50 bucks...the list goes on. For someone like me who used it for a daily...it was NOT feasable..but damn, it was fun!
I now have a slow *** 2006 mazda 3 with leather, heated seats, bose system..blah blah..and LOVE it! yea, its way slow, but damn, 87 octane is gold in my eyes and so are normal/regular oil changes and speed bumps are more friendly! I modded my evo to death! which is some of my fault as well....but once I had the motor built, the car went to shiiiit with problems left and right...so I finally had it fixed and sold it before problems could come back to haunt me. I was once a HUGE evo fan-boy too...so dont take me as a non "enthusiast" I'm still in love with the evo and have the MOST respect for them...just from afar
In other words...congrats on your purchase! We all have to make decisions to better other areas of our life sometimes.

for example, last night i went to the movies. I had 214 miles on the car when I got there, when i came out the brake pad was frozen to the caliper. I bugged out and eventually broke it lose. it fu*ked up the ride home as if i hit the brakes the pad would hit whatever was gunked up on my rotor. I was extremely upset and brought the car to infiniti at 8am today. I was there for about 8 mins total. i walked in told them my problem. They were amazed and apologized for it (not like anyone there was responsible, not even knowing exactly what happened) I thought at the time that brake fluid or something leaked on there and messed it up or sumthin. Anyways they tell me it will be fixed ASAP and another guy comes over and pretty much walks me to the door where they have a 2005 G35X loaner car already running and full of gas. He asks me to verify there is no damage to the car and even points out and takes note of a slight mark on the front bumper. I then take the new car to work.
i call them around lunch time to check status. they tell me some sort of plastic bag got in there and messed it up a lil. since i drove to the dealer downshifting an using the e-brake, i didnt mess anything up. The took everything apart got the crap off of the rotor and test drove it. he then tells me the car is being cleaned inside and out and i can pick it up when i get out of work.
Now, That is how customers are supposed to be treated. Even people with bone stock evo's get Sh*t sometimes bringing their cars in for warranty. All they are told is: if its abuse it wont be covered, blah blah blah. Good luck getting a loaner from them too. NOT TO SAY NO DEALERS ARE GOOD OR NONE GIVE LOANERS BUT MOST ARENT AND NONE ON LONG ISLAND ARE ANYTHING LIKE INFINITI. I considered a 2006 MR before I got this car. I got this car loaded to the gills for 37, very close to the price of an MR. For a daily driver driver this car is wonderful and much more practical. Its even a tad more mature. I love the evo as its a wonderful performing car in all aspects and i'd love to have both if possible, but i just cant do it right now. I need to pay of debt, keep my license clean and hopefully start saving for a house in a few years. WHERE I LIVE HOUSES ARE 300K AVERAGE, AND THAT GETS YOU A 3 BEDROOM 1 STORY WITH 1/4 OF AN ACRE IN A MEDIOCRE NEIGHBORHOOD.
I'll be back in an evo eventually, just not for a lil while. ANYONE WHO HATES ON THE G35 COUPE 6 SPEED, PLEASE GO TEST DRIVE ONE AND POST BACK HERE, I'M SURE YOU'LL CHANGE YOUR MIND ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL. Its not competition for the evo, its a completely different car. I dont think I upraded or downgraded, just trying something else out.
I always loved the G35's. Last summer my wife and I were looking for a car to replace her E46 M3. We checked out the G35's and I was highly dissapointed....with the interior. Neither of us could stand how cheap it looked. I had been a Nissan/Infiniti fan for so long then that interior just left a bad taste in my mouth. From the outside (and the #'s on paper) it's beautiful.
It seems the G35 accomplishes it's goals with gold stars, ruling the luxury mid-priced sport sedan market. I prefer the Evo, but I need it for track duty. The wife on the other hand is more interested in the sport-luxo-sedans. Which is great, because they're nice for road trips and weekends out on the town.
Congrats on your purchase, I wouldn't have done it, but you're not me.
Nolimit,
I sooooo agree about the customer service with luxo brands. BMW treated us like kings when we had our M3. We've had two Infinitis in the past and their service was better than most as well.
...and we all know how Mitsu's service is.
