would it slow you down? it's cut higher so it parachuts less... yes it would still parachute though. and also it's harder to remove the parachuting affect on it cuz you can't just put a flat piece in there... cuz of the diffuser wannabeness.

point: parachuting bumpers cause drag for no good purpose.

a real diffuser which expands air underneath the car actually causes even more drag but does so with the benefit of downforce. the more efficient something is at expanding air the more drag it will then produce. this is why f1 cars need the most hp possible... technically they're featherweight cars with little more than an engine and wheels plus suspension. they shouldn't need tons of hp to shoot them around a track. why they need the hp is because they make so much downforce (they're expanding so much air in so many different places) that the air flow around the car is all kinds of high pressure IN and ALL LOW PRESSURE OUT. so it's literally like they have a big parachute on them all the time.

That's what the vendor said for WRX. I hope he's wrong, coz it might be the same price for the EVO.

Keep us posted please. I love the JDM rear bumper, but I would much rather have a piece similar to this one. Thanks.

I think I might play around with some ABS plastic and just cut a piece for the rear. I make a 500 mile round trip every other weekend and I'm looking for better gas mileage. A buddy of mine used to mold plastic for fun so maybe I'll grab a case of Colt 45 and head on over there.

Why would the diffuser be more than the wide body diffuser? Check out the link

I guess that vendor was way over price. Let's see what they have for us EVO owners.

Its probably cheaper because it looks like less material and its not a direct fit, you need to cut and modify your bumper. Hopefully APR makes a dircect fit diffuser.

alot of diffuser's work with the IX rear so you dont get a air trapped in there. The voltex, kansai but fits better with a VII rear, varis can be fitted with modification but fits better with a VII rear, and maybe some others with modification.

I saw that piece...it is dame nice. I think the one on APR's evo only fit the wide body kit. The one on the WRX/STI is a dry carbon process........
