If your just going for the looks, JDM is the way to go.
I'm sure APR diffuser is functional, just like the varis.

the jdm 9 bumper is not a true diffuser, it still can "parachute"

.Don't think you will ever get much out of the evo. need to remove whatever that is behind the rear drivers wheel and cut out the wheel well to make any kind of actual working diffuser. Otherwise there is only 2 or 3 inches of rise from the axle, if that. Without cutting the bumper up all you are doing is sheeting the rear of the car. Now that may not be a bad idea, drag reducing wise, but it's not going to create much down force. Maybe if you added a wing a couple of inches below the piece . I notice some cars have a little quasi wing built in their rear fascia's.

The whole purpose of it is to keep the wind from going up under the bumper cover causing a "parachuting" and slowing your car down. It would work at the straitaways at a road course, just as it would do in the 1/4 mile. Race piece=functional, street use=no benefit but looks.

I was lucky enough to get within a few feet of an Enzo. That car has a diffuser. Channels that rise in elevation as they get to the rear of the car. Creating a hugh low pressure area, sucking the back of the car down. Useful when the car is going though corners at speed.

the parachute thing is a good idea too, but you need to call it something else. Getting rid of that bumper issue is a good idea, drag wise, but it does little for downforce. That is why I suggested an under wing with the under skin.

it would create some downforce... mainly by reducing lift associated with high pressure parachute air. but it would mostly reduce drag... which is very good.
