what is the real deal with MPG? and what the heck speed are you cruising at to get 26-28mpg? i have always wondered if it was better to drive 55 or 75...

well, the more MPG, generally the better because you are saving money. right?

Actually, as far as what speed will get you the best MPG...every car is different. Sports cars with taller gears, ie corvette, viper, etc with a 6th gear close to .500, would get better mileage going faster, maybe around 75 because it would be closer to the "sweet spot". Our car, with a shorter 5th gear, probably better slower, also the higher rpm for our car, easier it is to get into boost, which = worse MPG. hope that helps.
