Why are you gapping so small, your idle would appreciate being set to .028

Stick the piece of metal of the gap size you want in between the tip and metal. When your gap size fits in there snug, its gapped. If you got the right ngk's for the evo they are usually always set to .028 out the box, i personally would leave it there, but I would check to be sure. You sure you know how to change the plugs right besides gap?

Just cause you have never physically gapped a spark plug doesn't mean you don't know anything about cars or are not mechanically inclined. Just saying....

Read what is said not how its said. Still doesn't change the fact that your asking how to gap a plug. I'm sure if you search it would tell ya. Good luck out there.

nooo dont do that. If it way to small open it up more with pliers or something, if is close just wedge the gapper in until it fits good. But if the gap is to big knock the plugs metal rod over the tip on the ground or something lightly until its that gap. Never push on the tip.

if they are the iridium plugs you have to gently pull up on the metal with the gapper tool. the electrodes break real easy so be careful. they should be pregapped to around .026-.028 tho
