That has nothing to do with tuning. If you are going to go with a GT42R and 700+whp, then you should go ahead and plan on buying a beefed up tranny and t-case from TRE or Shep.

Um, k. I don't know why a "diff" is the main thing you're worried about when doing a 700whp setup, but whatever. You probably WILL want a QUAIFE LSD up front, but I will never be anywhere near that power level, so I'm not a great source of info there.

What scares me is that you don't know what the words "tranny" and "t-case" mean. If you were referring to "TRE" and "Shep," then those are vendors who create/build/sell beefed up drivetrain parts for Evos.

i was meaning the TRE and SHEP offcourse, my only problem is iv been told in order for a bigger turbo setup i need to spend major bucks on tranny/diff setup and they have told me like 6-8k us dollars? sounds way to much to me, sure they must be some guys here runnin a good 450/500bhp on standard ayc diffs?

Dunno, we don't have AYC. You can do 450/500bhp on the stock tranny parts, but if you plan to drag race often, you will eventually break often.

Anyway, why in the world would you be talking about a GT42R if you only plan on 450-500bhp? 450-500bhp is only 400-425whp, which can be done on the stock turbo if maxed out or on a very mild upgraded turbo. The GT42R is for serious race applications. Hell, even the GT35r is too big for what you're saying now...

That's ACD, we get that on the 05/06s. We don't, however, get AYC, which is completely different. You don't know the difference between AYC and ACD? It looks like you're mixing them up when you say "active ya diff".

ACD = Active Center Differential
AYC = Active Yaw Control

I don't think you need to be worrying about anything beyond basic bolt-ons and around 350whp on the stock turbo. That's my opinion.

Ok, whatever man. You're too hung up on this diff thing. That's just one of MANY huge expenses you will incur with a huge turbo setup...

1.) getting a bigger turbo does not necessarily mean you need a stronger differential & X-fer case

B.) getting the biggest turbo will mean you need a stronger differential & X-fer case

.....and there is a TON of middle ground.

Standard ACD diff, EST 480bhp here. Worry about it when it is broken. Don't waste your time until then.
