Why vta?
Why vta?
I am looking into replacing my stock dv and am wondering what the advantage is to a vta besides the sound. I am only interested in boosting my performance. Currrently I am running with the stock boost. I was thinking about getting the agency power unit so I have the option of recerc, vta or 50/50.
There is no advantage, but there are several disadvantages. There's no reason to get a 50/50 one either. Lastly, there is no reason to replace your stock DV if you're on stock boost - it won't "boost" your performance.

No, it holds stock boost perfectly. Yes, it is weak, but it's not weak enough to warrant purchasing an aftermarket BOV until you raise the boost. You should be getting an MBC - not worrying about VTA BOVs. You also need a tune for that intake to run optimally...

I am totally against vta on a car running a mas. With that being said this is the only argument I have ever heard that reasonably justified venting to atmosphere. Keep in mind though that the srt-4 runs on a map system so vta really has no adverse effects.
"The Mopar Performance Blow Off Valve Convertion Kit reduces the intake air temperature by venting the hot compressed air to the atmosphere and not re-circulating it into the intake."
But don't forget "It provides a distinctive Sound (PSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHH)".
