It's the 5k launch limiter switch on 05s and 06s. If you have a Dynoflash that includes launch control, this switch must be connected in order for the 2-step to work. If it's not connected, it will rev to the rev limiter. This switch wouldn't be disconnected unless you physically disconnected it yourself.

are you refering to the clutch switch? That requires the clutch to pressed in order to start the car? Thanks for the great vid and all your help.

there is the clutch switch which is triggered when the clutch is pressed in to start the car. on the 05 and 06s they had an added feature "launch control." when the clutch was pressed in and you matted the gas (from a standstill) the engine would cut off at 5k.
with a flash from al, the rev limiter on launch control is raised to whatever rpm you want and also, for some reason ( i don't know ) there is an anti-lag effect where you build boost

That is what I wanted to know I believe that switch has been disabled in my car for the alarm to act as turbo timer and remote start. I will have to ask the tech that installed it.
Thanks for the info.

if you had a remote start installed by a professional, he shouldn't have disconnected the clutch start switch. by doing so, this allows the car to start even while its in gear. i would expect a company that does remote starts professionaly would keep the switch on for liability purposes.
remember there are 2 different switches. the rev limiter switch and the clutch-in start switch

Hmm, yeah, it was posted up by someone else, and now it's down. Someone else had it on their HD and posted it in the Drag forum, so I'll go try to find it.

I use Youtube all the time for my vids, but this vid was taken by someone else who uploaded it to Streetfire, and the link no longer works. I don't have a copy of the original file unfortunately, and I can't find the other copy that was posted by someone else at a later date.

All I have is an in-car vid from a 12.30 run:
