Haven't been here a while and have a few ?
So i used to hang around here alot because i thought i was going ot get an evo. One thing led to another and i ended up with a 2000 Porsche Carrera C2. Now i love the porsche to death. the car is just pure sex. but still in the back of my head i can't sto thinking about the evo. So im going to sell my car near the end of summer and buy an evo 9. one ? i have is i want the evo as a daily driver but im still gaoing to mod it. im looking to do rims, lip kit, and have at least a relaible 340hp. so my Question now is should i get the MR or just the regular one. Im leaning more towrd the mr just because the 6sp and the blisten shocks. im going to miss my porsche and the way it pulls on the highway but i just need an evo. also whats the top speed of the evo i rember the 8 was around 150mph. my porsche pulls out 175mph.... not that ive ever done that....
Top speed is about 150-160, I think? Flashing the ECU will allow for slightly higher top speeds because you can eliminate the rev-limiter. I personally like the regular EVO to the MR just becuase I hate the MR wheels and I would rather spend $5K elsewhere.
Ive got a friend on here that saw over 170 on his evo. Still on stock turbo too. I forget what the gearing is but don't think it would take much to see either the MR or the GSR hit 170+ Just a little more power!. I vote for the MR. Its doesnt do QUITE as well in serious drag racing, but its no slouch either. You can't really go wrong with either car... Im awaiting my XI MR as we speak........

they all have the same performance, in the end its all on what u want to do with it. but what do i know i just learned all of this myself.
the evo IX is pure sex no matter what it ends in, RS, GSR, MR

I think if you have a porsche now, you have to get the MR, obviously you can afford it. 340 whp should push the evo close to, if not in the 170's. youll love the car, Itll be faster than your porsche, handle better, and have more seats. Cant go wrong. however i think you will miss the porsches engine "song". Just beautiful to hear.

Thanks for the replys and by the way the only reason i bought the porsche was cause it was 30k and it was a hell of a deal at the time. but still the i dream about the evo all the time so yeah.... im still going to keep my car all summer and then fix it up a bit and sell it. O and HIrevnVIII yeah i will miss the sweet "song" of the porsche, especially when i gun it in 6th gear on the freeway.... its just a beautiful noise
