Racing Helmets

Look at NASA's website they have affiliate sponsors who offer discounts or free shipping to NASA members.
Bell and G-force makes a nice line of economical helmets. ($200-250 range) Definitaly get an SA rated not an M. You can get a cheap $50 helmet, but do you really want to know if it worth the savings when you crash?

1. Use a proper fitting helmet that meets Snell 1990 (SA1990; M1990) or newer (or

So a M1990, M1995, M2000, M2005 should work for NASA HPDE events, but they will not work at all track events. SA rated helmets are the best bet to cover more events, wish I would have bought an SA helmet last year instead of my M2000.

I'd still recommend getting at least an SA2000, as many schools will accept nothing less.

If you don't plan to do too many track days a year and want to pick up a cheapo helmet that does meet DOT and Snell 2000 ratings, SuperAutobacs got a bunch in for $99.00. They were probably manufactured overseas but as long as they carry a DOT and Snell rating your good to go. I picked one up for my girlfriend when I give her ride-alongs.
If you plan to do alot of track days, don't skimp. Buy a nice Bell or OMP at Subesports located in the OC. They usually retail for $300.00 and up.
There's also Racerswholesale.com
good luck!
I can get you a really nice helmet for under $70. Let me know. www.buymotorcyclehelmets.com Special price for all evom guys / gals
if you want a real auto racing helmet try www.soloracer.com i got a pretty good deal on a sweet helmet that will last me 10 years before I have to get a new one due to regulations
