insurance hike!!!

word of caution, if no one has experienced this yet...
I received my 6 month premium from Geico today... my comp and collision went up over $450 for 6 months (comp - 100 up to 270, coll - 255 up to 522). I have not had any accidents in the last 3 years or tickets (just filed small comp claim, less than 500 bucks for a deer). Of frikkin course i called Geico, they stated that the car has been flagged as a vehicle involved in street racing, and a independent organization, which ALL insurance companies draw information from (not just Geico).... is this BS???... It seems getting a quote from progressive and esurance are showing the same thing... How many others have experienced this????
I am almost 30, married w/ two kids... all the frikking kids need to stop racing a wrecking these cars, cause all the "normal' drivers are getting f_cked.

edit... added this info

called geico back -
they told me to look at http://www.mdinsurance.state.md.us/
which really didnt show me anything, so i asked what caused the "hike" in cost. They commented that after 2 years, the vehicles get re-evaluated for the cost of fixing / repairs, parts, etc... and that the car with my vin type (mistu evo) was rated with a "n" and now is rated at a "u" (jumped 7 points). geico also stated that anyone who has this vehicle through geico will see this increase.... thats what i want to find out.

You're lucky GIECO still covers your Evo at all. They dropped coverage specifically only on my Evo and on none of my other cars, despite the fact that neither my wife nor I had ever had a ticket or accident claim in nearly nine years. Some BS excuse was provided that GIECO denies coverage on certain "high performance" cars and that my Evo fit their underwriting guidelines. I told them to stick it and moved my insurance over to State Farm. No issues with State Farm...

I've had Geico for 18 months now, no problems (3 months on the Evo, previous 15 on the VW R32). Just got my new insurance packet, rates have not gone up. Still at $2400/yr.

$2400 for the year is high unless you have more than 1 car at this rate.
