So true, my old Integra was tored off at the rear end by some guy. Repair went total cost of around $17.5k. The car has never been the same, rattles, stutters, run offs, you get all kinds of problem afterward.

taking up racing or rallying and use the old car for that. Get a Lancer as a daily driver till you saved up enough for another evo.

that way, you would not have to spend so much fixing the old car (only up to track worthy and don't have to worry about the way it looks). Whatever money you saved can be used towards a new car...

This has been the longest two weeks of my life. Estimate was only around $12,000 so no chance of totaling it. I think the IX's the way to go now though. If I ever get this 04 fixed that is. They claimed by this friday, but the parts are already a day late.

find out what the buy back is on the salvage, if the numbers work out, take the check, forego any repairs, and then buy the salvage wreckage back, part it out, then hopefully the time and effort doing so is worth it then you make more money.. interior pieces, etc can all go a long way if you have them in stock sell them on ebay, much cheaper for people to buy there than OEM.

Sell it as-is. Some shop might pick it up for a project car!

I know if I were to do it again, I'd find a wrecked Evo to build up

nope! doesnt have to do with the frame being bent or not, if it was a little hit yea get it fixed but once u crash at 35mph+, thats when u worry it may not seem alot but its a hard impact that will leave ur car never running the same way, and the only person to notice the difference would be the owner! thats why sum people are so **** about their car being crashed!

I'm worried about all other problems that will come as a result of the body and mechanical work. I want to trade for a IX right after I get my 2004 VIII fixed. I'm lightly modded with the usual. No big mods, so I could just take off all existing ones in a few days or so. What would you guys suggest I do? Keep the VIII and pray that it's okay? Or just get a IX and be done with it? I only owe about 16 on the VIII and I figure to get at least 24 for my 04. So that's a pretty decent down payment on a IX. What do you think?
that sounds like a good idea
any wrecked car will not be the same even after its fixed- you probably wont like it
best to upgrade to an evo9

That should say it all right there. If the frame is bent, it should be totaled out. It's your baby, but she's seen it's best days, sorry, get rid of it.

post a pic of the damage and if it is tolerable, we will buy it. even without an engine, engine to follow. we have a spare Tomei 4G63 2.2L Race Engine looking for a home.
