When you have to rely on your father for both the loan AND the insurance, you know you have no business buying such a car. Also, listing your dad as the primary driver when he's not the primary driver is insurance fraud. If you get in a wreck that is your fault, and Farmer's Insurance finds out that you really are the primary driver, your father could get dropped completely. Taking shortcuts to make up for not having enough money to do things properly is not recommended, so keep that in mind.

Sorry about your plight alpine, it seems like you just wanted to vent.

But I must ask: What's the reason for this post?

theres no way they gave you the keys before all the finance papers were signed . stop bull****ting everyone.

maybe* for the test drive you had to give back the keys.

do yourself a favor and start building credit of your own. i know its not going to helo you in this case, but you'll be happy you did it ten yrs from now when oyu want to buy a house or something. take out a credit card in your name and just be careful. youll build up credit. depending on if you live at home or not (i have my own placde in philly) get your name on some bills.. just advice from someone around your age to another. good luck getting the car its worth the wait for sure

It is most certainly worth the wait. I am in the process of building up some credit. I promise you all that i did in fact have the keys in my pocket for a total of two days. No kidding whatsoever. belive me if you will. This post was mostly a rant. And i do appreciate and take into account all of your advice, no mater how harsh.

They gave me the keys to the car once i signed a Perfered Customer Plan , basically it say " I will own this car today if the figures are agreeable. " This is a legally binding contract to make sure the customers buy the car. I was only 21years and 2 days old when i bought mine.

Yeah you really should start your own credit. I started with a signature loan with my dad cosigning back when i was 17. Then i got 2 auto loans and a christmas loan paid off with the same bank that ended up doing the financing for my Evo. I think my FICO auto score was right around 700 when i bought my evo.

call it being an ***, but there have been too many of these pointless threads lately. This is something you keep in your head, you don't have to make a whole new thread about it. Theres no point to it seriously. Also, deciding on a RS and MR all upon whichever comes in white first? Hmm ok that's a way to make a decision.

Way to go all u young bloods gettin' paid gettin' paid... You won't regret getting the evo!! I have had mine for 3years, got it new back when I was 18yo... I had my dad co-sign, built my credit up for a year, then saw a good loan deal @ another bank, got approved w/my name only on the loan (4.0%)...now my credit score is over 700, so in my mind a car is a good way to build up your credit!

ahahha i was 20 when i bought my evo and can afford it fine just becuase were young doesnt mean we cant make money. My buddy bought his S4 when he was 17 and stage 3+ (which if you know s4's is alot of dough) all payed by himself cause he worked his *** off for it. Give the kid a break.
