Absolute worst experience ever

So if you have read my post about getting a white gsr you know i was pretty pumped on that. Well, i am 19 and have no credit. I make more than enough money to aford this car, but have no credit. My dad on the other hand, has credit. My dad is not the best record keeper. Long story short, after i had ben handed the keys and all was good (or so i thought) the finance guy comes out and is like hey i need to talk to you. So it ends up that since my dad did not keep good enough records in 2004 he could not be approved for the loan However he had brought in proof of income from 2004 and 2005 which was enough income to be approved but the finance guy said that he had to file his taxes first. So i am still getting this car, i am more determined than ever now, i just have to wait for my dad to fill out his taxes and all that fun stuff. On a better note, this time around i think i am going to get the model that i really want, the mr, or the rs, whichever one the dealer can find in white first (hoping for the mr ) So i hope that none of you ever have to go through what i have gone through the past few days. JUst imagine having to give back the keys for your car, nothing compares to that.

true, but at least those guys got to drive their babies home. I did not even get to do that. i bought it, was given the keys, went home, got insurance, and then had to give the keys back after two sleepless nights just waiting to drive it off the lot.
oh i did get amazing insurance though, full coverage for 612/6 months or about 1224 a year

I'd love to know what a 19 year olds idea of making "more than enough money" to afford a 30k+ car is.

does it matter....i'm 19 and pay for my car, insurance gas and anythign else i need....dont get mad cause you didn't buy your own car when you were 19, or if you did buy your own car it wasn't as expensive as ours. I go to school full time taking 16 credits and work as an IT at the tampa tribune. I'm sure most of you older guys have families and many things to pay for, but when you 19 and have basically no responsibilites 45k goes a loooooong way.

cheers

my father is successful and i learned a lot from him about managing my finances and working hard. I plan on buying a condo within the next year because renting is pointless, dumping money and getting to return.

cheers

Actually I owned two businesses when I was 15 and bought a 1G Talon TSI when I hit 17, paid cash. Was not the smartest way to spend my money, but even smart teenagers do stupid things. I wasn't judging (yet), I was just curious.

45k!?! Wow, I thought I was making a lot of money at my age. Now I'm going to feel bad the whole day. jk

Sorry for the off topic. Anyway back on topic. I had somewhat the same experience as you. It took me 3 days to get my evo, but my problem was different than yours though. At the time when I was buying my evo, there was the 0% financing deal going and my mom was the one that was buying it for me because I don't have credit. Don't get me wrong though, I pay for the payments, but I just wanted to do this so I could get the 0%. She had almost perfect credit, and surely more than the 700 that they were looking for, but it still took them 3 days. When we asked why they said the financing office was closed Saturday and Sunday, so they had to wait till Monday. That makes absolutely no sense, but oh well. I got invoice + 0% financing, so in the long run, I'm not complaining.

Good luck with your evo.

I am a computer programmer for a company that is about to go public on wal street and is projected to open at over 20 dollars a share. I also do freelance graphic and web design on the side as well as go to college. My income at this point in my life is very nice and i am saving and investing wisely. This wise investment is not my car btw. My passion is automobiles and to me there is no better way to spend my hard earned money, so long as i still have a financial cushion to work with as well. I do realize how lucky i am to be in this position so early in my life.
