Heh, you just assume that's a boost leak? It sounds more like your clutch is slipping. A boost leak would not make your rpms go up.

If in higher gears, when you go WOT from low rpm, and the RPMs shoot up when you hit full boost, then your clutch is slipping.

here is a test to see if your clutch is ***. get on the freeway put in 5th gear at about 50-55mph and floor it, if your RPM go up and you're not picking speed. your clutch is slipping. i did this test on my car.

If you are stock, then the boost will go down as the RPM go up. 21 to 17 pis is close to norm over our power range

that's completely normal. peak boost for evo 9 is around 21 psi and it tapers down to approximately 16psi when it hits redline. if there's a boost leak i don't think you can even hit 20psi.

I am quoting this again, because it is being ignored. Obviously, the boost tapers down as your RPMs increase, but I'm sure that's not what you're talking about, right? I mean, you didn't think the boost stayed right at the same level from 3500-7000rpm. In 3rd and 4th gear that takes quite a while and the boost doesn't drop right away. When you said "and the rpm's go up," were you just referring to the standard increase of RPM while accelerating? If so, then why mention it? I figured you said it, because the RPMs shoot up right away unnaturally...no?
