weird weird sound..please help

ok so im about to get onto the onramp of the highway. i decide to floor it and have some fun for a minute. as i am flooring 1st, everything is normal untill about 6k rpm. then i heard a loud psh psh psh psh, then i shift to second, and hear psh psh psh psh.

no idea what the sound is but it freaked me out. the cars drives fine, it only happens in 1-3rd gear when im going WOT. boost still hits to 21. but when the psh psh psh psh happens i saw the boost drop. any ideas?

thanks!

Do you have the stock airbox with the original intake snorkel? If so, is the snorkel fastened down with 2 stock clips.

When the snorkel isn't fastened down, then at 6k in every gear (or at least gears 1-3), the snorkel gets sucked up against the underside of the hood, which cuts off the engine's air supply, causes a loud high-pitched whoosh, and makes the boost drop all the way down. If your clips are securely fastened, then I don't know what's wrong. I can't imagine what would make a "psh psh psh psh" sound unless maybe your BOV broke...
