If you're worried, don't mod it. No matter what advice you get, you're always going to have that doubt... I was never worried, so that's never been an obstacle for me. If the car breaks, I'll either fix it or sell it. Simple as that.

This is one of the most confusing threads I've read in a while....so what exactly are you asking, what advice are you looking for or are you just stating a fact that you heard from "some people" who you clearly think are idiots, but you still want to check out what we think. I don't get it, why don't you just go on and mod your car as you had planned or were you expecting some one to tell you that you have purchased a "weak" evo and now you can't touch the car? Please let us know

frenchy, just my opinion, you can't really worry about the "build" of the car if you really plan on modding it b/c eventually with all cars/engines you can run into engine/electric failure. You just need to determine how far you want to go and how much you are willing to do. In my case, I figure anything that breaks can be replaced, by AMS so who cares right. You have to decide if it is worth it to you and can you afford to do it. no one here can tell you that.

well I have plans.... to mod it....but I am a little leary about my schryncros going out again.....and about the idiots....they own evos but have so many problems with them so they consider it a weak evos

no car manufacturer...no manufacturer of anything involving mechanical and electrical parts is going to be able to make a product that is flawless on every single one. It would be the same as saying why can't sony make a TV that is perfect for everyone that buys one, you know...look at it this way, if you mod and then something fails, there really isn't a part on the car that doesn't have aftermarket support. As long as you don't mind having to pay for it, if you really want to keep the warranty then you'll just have to sit and wait till it ends I guess. Hope this helps you out and good luck

Frenchy, take time to let this post sink in as it is the key to why some people complain about syncros and transfer cases. And i'm gonna also add in maintainence as some people buy the damn car and cant afford tires or oil changes regularly. I treat my car like my girl. love her to death. Every now and then, i give it to her but i do so with love and care as to not rip or ruin anything. But most of the time I treat her with love and care. If you beat on yours all day and night, either shes gonna die, kill you, or leave. LOL. But seriously drive right.

Btw, I would be divorced or in a casket if I treated my wife anything like the way I treat my Evo.
