Well, I have an evo and an sti. That makes it even harder, or perhaps not.
I think one day I will get tired of cars 'like these'. I mean, sometimes, it would be nice if I had an M5 and not have to think about modding it because 1)I wouldn't be able to do it 2)it would be too much money/effort to do anything to it 3)there's no need to do it. I mean, sometimes I want something that doesn't rattle, not loud, and generally a little less boy-racerish... But in the mean time, I still love my cars...

I will never get rid of the evo. I might, down the road, get something like a Ford Explorer for a daily driver. This would be nice because I can haul people around more comfortably, as well as tow the evo. Whenever I feel like driving fast tho, I can just drive the evo.

i was considering trading the EVO for an Acura TSX so my wife can drive the car (she doesn't know how to drive stick and i'm afraid to teach it to her in the EVO) but i somehow cannot allow myself to do it. i rather buy another car and have another car payment before even letting go of the EVO especially for something other than a Ferrari.

I've had nothing but 14 sec cars or faster since I was 16, I could never ever drive something slow, I like having the power there for the manuevers that require me to use it to avoid an accident, merge on the highway, etc. I also like knowing my car stops and handles better than most out there, you never know when you have to hit the brakes harder than the guy in front of you or swerve to avoid an accident!

I love my evo! The speed, the handling, when you drive it you just feel like a part of the car. I would rather keep it for years and years. I have never owned a car for more than a few years, now I want to.

See? That's exactly how I feel. I might mellow out as I get older, though (like when I'm 90).

Downshifting? My experiece is even an upgrade will struggle to match the Evo. I moved to 2005 E55 in last May and two three days of driving that gives me a craving for some wheel time behind the Evo. Luckily I did not sell the Evo. Son uses it now, but he is back only in weekends. Which means, I still have the Evo at my disposal.

I feel the exactly the same way. UP is the ONLY way to go for me now for this much of power and handling. So I guess Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo/Saleen/BMW M-cars will by my next car. (This might take a while)

Additionally, I also purchased the Evo b/c it was practical...4 doors, back seats...it can also haul family.

Up nor down, I'd switch to an STi, SRT-4 (once the upgraded models come out, not the current ones), or Mazdaspeed 6... They all may be up or down a little bit, but not as immense as something like say a Civic SI or Cobalt SS (which I could also see myself driving, should costs get too high on the Evo) There's a lot of cool cars out there that would be fun to experiment with. The Evo is fun and fast and all, but with all of its drawbacks, there's always somethign that can "complete" it, e.g. the truck I'm planning on getting, then all I'm missing is something that gets good gas mileage...

As long as I can afford the car with various expenses (oil changes, maintence, tires, etc...), I would keep my Evo. It all comes down to the factor, money. If you have the money, you have a better choice than other people who are forced to buy less expensive and less power cars.

If you do not have a choice because of the factor, you would not ask this question.

It all comes down to MONEY. $$
