Is it just my car or everyone's evo's headlights are pointed too low.

I've been disliking how low mine are. Our adjustment is too low to way too low. I'd doubt mine even reaches 150ft ahead.

Does anyone have a shop manual yet and could share some info?

I bet the dealer has a shop manual, maybe they could... shed some light on the situation.

I've set my lights to the highest setting and it is still too low. I'm surprised that the other settings just make it even lower. The lights don't even hit the bumper of the car in front of me.
I found that both of my S4's had fairly low trajectories as well. The abrupt beam cut-off seems to exaggerate this. I mean HID's are great, but where the beam stops....it stops! I think my EVO is slightly lower than my S4's were, but not by much.

BTW- Like you I also had an X5 4.4i with HID's and they worked great! I got brighted by lots of people in the X5, only by a few people in my S4's and so far never in my EVO. Perhaps its just because the X5 sits higher to begin with, but I do think the beam itself was aimed higher.

I haven't checked, do the EVO lights have a manual adjustment capability? I would think they would have to be adjustable, so maybe all we need to do is adjust them up slightly. Then the adjuster switch could be used to trim them down for heavy traffic situations.

down low on the headlamp is a black 10mm bolt that turns a gear looking adjuster, you'll need to have an air 1/4 inch rachet or a manual one to adjust it. Yes they are very low.

Why would they use a 1/4" bolt on a Japanese car?

Just so you know, the car also has highbeams

Seriously though I think they are low so you don't blind other traffic. If you need more light chances are there is less traffic around so you can use highbeams maybe. If you are in a populated area it probably has street lights. I have had German cars with European H4 headlights and they were the same way. There is a definite line where the light stops. American cars just throw light everywhere and that is what we are used to. Ford trucks are the worst I have seen. They are blinding!

There are two adjustment points per headlamp assembly. One for up/down, the other for left/right. Which is for height, the one you access from the round hole above the the fog light or the one you access from inside the engine bay closer to the hid assembly?

Glad I'm not the only one that thought the HIDs were set way, way, too low from the factory. The problem I've had with mine is when small hills are sloped away from you, and/or trying to light up a street sign thats out beyond the falloff point. This post is kinda old..is there another one somewhere that talks about the adjustment? Anyone want to help me out here?

Not only did my S2000 lights seem better aimed, they seemed brighter, too...

I am going to see if one of the techs at my local dealership will set the current zero point at #2 so that I can go a little high if I want to (good for driving in canyons, etc.).
