If you'll ever see snow get the evo though. I want an S2000 damn bad but winters in upstate NY aren't good for it and I couldn't afford either without trading in my Civic. So I'll most likely be investing in an EVO this summer.
Dumb comment of the day, if your going to be a troll atleast be a good one. Wow a $6K supercharger to make 350 Flywheel HP. Damn EVOs make 350 to the wheels for half of that. My point is, that if your going to make dumb *** comparisons, then atleast choose a good system to compare with.

I have both a 2001 S2000 and a '05 Evo 8.

S2000 Posatives :
Great looking car with amazing lines
Handles likea go-cart
Convertble
6spd transmission is known for being one of the tightest.
Rear wheel drive
Reliable...its a Honda so what do you expect?

S2000 Negatives:
Small...no xtra space anywhere...2 people and that's it.
Convertable...i.e. lots of road noise
SUCKS in bad weather

S2000 in point: If you want a weekend car, date car, fun car to cruise around in, its the S2000. If your looking for a track car, its great. If your looking for lots of power, expect to spend lots of money. The motor is pretty maxed out from Honda, so a S/C or Turbo setup is your best bet, but your looking at 5-10k depending on your setup.

Evo Posatives:
4 doors, trunk, and a little leg room
5 or 6 speed
AWD...great for incliment weather
Mod ready with small amount of money
Handles exceptionally for a sedan
Reasonably reliable for a turbocharged 4cyl

Evo Negatives:
Big wing can be cop attracting
Cheapy/creaky interior
Cheap paint...chips easily
Mod addicting :P
A "teeny bopper" style car
Euro tail...easy fix though
High maintinence

Seriously, what? A used S2000 with a supercharger is the same price as a new EVO and they'd both be boosted 4's... how isn't that a good comparison?

I never said that if you buy the more expensive car and put MORE money into it it won't be faster. I was just saying that if you live where weather and other things aren't a factor spend the money on the RWD convertable S2000 and pick up a superchager for the same price you can get the EVO for. But, if you live where there's weather get the AWD EVO. The supercharged S2000 will have more BHP than the stock EVO and have less drivetrain loss.

You should think before bashing people for no aparent reason. I'm planning on getting an EVO this summer so I'm obviously not bashing them.

And in case you haven't figured it out or happened to have based your rude unprovoked comment on it... My avatar is a joke, I have absolutely nothing against Mitsubishi.

PS. If you're gonna be an "Evolved Member" at least be a good one.

I doubt Honda would honor the warranty on a s2k with aftermarket supercharger. They also have alot of experience with this stuff from blown up civic engines. If you mod, forget about the warranty.

If you wanna ***** foot around get the S2000. If you want a real sports car with power and handling, get the EVO. There quite different in my opinion so I think before you deicde which car you want, figure out WHAT you want exactly. THen the choice should be simple. If this was a debate over an STi vs EVO it would be harder..

Oh and about that supercharger comment. I obliterated this kid's Vortech supercharged S2000 with $2k in mods....yeah from a roll...

Like many other posters...My brother has an 05 S2000 and I have an 06 EVO 9 MR....My car feels ferocious acceleration-wise compared to his, but his attracts more attention/looks better.

Look at it this way:

The S2k is a well balanced attractive go-kart that is good for picking up chicks.

The Evo is a beast of a car that is good for embarrassing their boyfriends.

For me it is hard to beat the raw grin-inducing power the Evo has...But if you are concerned with looks/picking up girls etc...this is not the car for you. Most people who see it will just think you slapped a huge wing on a civic. "You mean it came that way when you bought it!?!"

S2K are very nice cars and a couple of my friends have them, but I don't think I could ever give up my evo for one. Just my .02$ though. I say you get the evo.

FYI... Those Vortec blowers build boost with RPM and only add power at the top (still no torque), plus you are limited to low boost with a 13-1 compression ratio. You won't see a dramatic difference unless you get out on a road course. Evo would still kill it.

I have had both and now I only have an evo.
