I've got myself back against the wall and don't know what to do...
So, I went car-shopping today. In the next week or so I will probably be driving a brand new Evo 9 MR. However, for some reason, I decided to stop in at Honda and spotted an absolutley immaculate 05 White S2000 with everything i wanted for 2000 below invoice. After driving a Red S2000 on the lot that they had, I was speechless. It is well built, shifts smooth, and I got quite a few looks from people driving by. It is also very quick for a N/A 2.2L 4 cyl. I didn't push it that hard but i could tell it had power under there. So then it comes down to pricing. Right now, I could get the S2000 for 28650 - 6000 for my car and a 10,000 dollar downpayment. The Evo is a different story. They are willing to give me 7100 for my car at Mitsu, but its 36894-7100 and again, a 10,000 dollar downpayment.
So on to what I'm asking. Has anyone ever driven these cars back to back? I know the Mitsu is faster, and I know its more practical, but for those that have driven both, is it worth the extra cost in monthly payments? Thanks ahead of time for help.

If your asking a bunch of evo owners "should I purchase an s2000 over an evo", you need to log off evoM. That's like me asking "should I sale the g35 for an evo". Want answer, ask s2ki. You'll get "buy an s2k", here you'll get "buy an evo". Figure it out for yourself... only you know what to buy.
P.S. I'd choose the evo.

What I didn't like about the S2000, I love about the EVO, and vice versa. The S2000 had a beautiful gearbox, and shifting was effortless compared to the EVO. The S2000 had better HID's that you could actually see with. The soft top of the S2000 came in handy about 5 days per year, but I live in Houston so it might be different for you. ummm, and that's about it as far as advantages.
The EVO is predictable and correctable on the verge of traction, the S2000 breaks the back end loose and you're left grabbing wheel like there's no tomorrow to keep it on the road. The EVO is easy to drive in traffic, the S2000 has blind spots the size of of a semi with the top up. The EVO makes a lot of noise, but nothing compared to the road noise that comes with a soft top. The EVO has torque, nice when wanting to lug around town with minimal shifting. The EVO is very, very mod friendly, the S2000 is on the verge of blowing up from the factory. Sure there are S2000's that have been messaged, but to what hp level and how much $$$?
That last bullet point is worth every penny to me.
Follow this link and buy from one of the dealers offering a deal to EVOM members. 29K+TTL for a EVO9. Sell your car privately. Take vacation from school/work you'll save a few K.

My brother has an S2000 and lives w/ me ... Evo hands down ..
If Chuck Norris had to choose between the 2 - he would choose the EVO ... hands down .. with a roundhouse kick to the face .. YEAH ...

The S2K is a cool little car if you can actually fit in one, but it's very impractical. The Evo has 4 doors, a trunk, lots of headroom and takes well to mods. You get what you pay for. That's why it costs more.
first off no, dont buy the s2000 especially because they want a lil much for it imo. i have a friend w/ an s2k he loves it and it is a very nice car, but hes told me hunderds of times that he would trade it instantly for an evo. buy the evo you wont be disappointed.
Its your decision, and it will be a tough one. Luckily I have already had both as well. It also depends on what your plans are. I spent close to 15k on my s2k modifying it and in the end, it was nice but not worth the extra 15k.

now i haven't driven an s2k, but from all the things i have heard, you won't be dissapointed.
just give yourself a few days to mull it over in your head. you obviously know the pros and cons of each, so i am sure one will start to stand out in your mind.

BTW - The price on the S2000 isn't that great from my experience haggling on them. (That being said though wihtout knowing the details on your trade-in).
