They covered plenty of other things that were not "permanetly" attached to the car such as Oakley's, CD's, A spotlight etc....

They did not cover it for the reason I had stated. Otherwise it would have been covered under home owner insurance as the other pieces were. Granted I had to pay $150 more for that deductible but at least I got my stuff back.

I guess they were pretty indiscriminate about trashing your interior but is it just me or does it look like the were checking behind your glovebox as well? Kinda fishy if they were. Somebody knew where to go.

Where are you at in NC?

I know a buddy of mine got about $6,000 worth of A/V stuff stolen out of his car and he had an alarm. I think whoever installed the alarm stole his stuff and they installed a by-pass because that thing would go off if you leaned against the car.

The worst part is and I would be willing to bet you got the same treatment. The cops were just like "Oh, well. Nothing we can do." They didn't dust for finger prints, look at apartment surveillance, nothing. I understand that no one was physically hurt and it all can be replaced but, sh*t how about we at least try to bring these scumbags to justice.

That sucks man. I'm sorry to see anyone's car in that state.

Sorry to see that man, that definitly sucks.

Someone said earlier it looked like a 45min job. I have done all my own stereo work and electronics work. Whomever took that car apart knew EXACTLY what they were doing, the areas of interest are all taken apart properly. To be honest to take the radio and those other electronics out, if they knew what they were doing, was in all reality a 5-10 minute job. Someone also noted the glovebox being removed, probably looking for some type of engine mgmt to theive, aside from the turbo timer it looks like they only took higher priced items that most likely can be resold easily or reinstalled into another car. If your trying to find out who it was I would check out some local Evo's just for the hell of it. Hopefully you'll get someone with all the finger printing that been done also. Best of luck

weird about radar detectors. i specifically asked my ins agent about that and they told me that everything inside the car, including radar detector is covered. i have a pioneer mp3/cd player now, but i'm actually planning on installing an in-dash 7" lcd/dvd player. most of them don't have detachable faces i want the jensen touch screen one. that alpine u've had costs a pretty penny, hope u get all the $ back.
at least u got CSI on that sheet, nice. go go gadget-DNA-scanner.

Thieves should have their arms chopped off. Thieves who steal from an Evo should have their hands and pen0rs chopped off.

I know exactly what you mean, i had the wheels stolen off my old Lancer the first week i moved to South Carolina and when i called the police they just wanted to file a report over the phone. I had to get angry and demand a police officer at least come to the scene before they finally agreed to send someone over even though the lady on the phone blatently told me it was a waste of time. Then of course the fight with the insurance company and it goes on my insurance record like it was my fault... but they had to pay out a few hundred dollars so someone's record had to get the wrath. All in all it's a terrible situation and most of the time the people who stole from you never are found and it's really pure profit for them. It really grinds my gears.
