Maybe having a friend killed by a dumb a$$ 16 year old kid with his dads corvette has changed my opinion on things. But i would rather have kids in #$%^ boxes running into me than a kid with a car that does 0-60 in under 5 sec. and can reach around 110 a 1/4 mile. but to each is own.......

why not a 88 Cadilac Eldorado....Are there some good drivers that are young out there YES....Are the majority of them good, No, look at the facts.....Will the evo have any effect on those statistics by it self No. Would you give a loaded gun to a kid and not teach them how to use it????? I am not trying to argue, you can say how good you are at driving at 19 all day long. That wont change the fact that the majority of the kids out there hav no idea what they are buying when they get into this car. They saw paul walker drive the **** out of one in a movie and they just have to have the same car.

im 21, not 19 and i agree this argument will go back and forth tell were both blue in the face. The only comment i had was everybody loves hating on younger drivers when in many cases there are plenty of good young drivers out there. Everybody just assumes since the 17 they suck at driving, thats fine you have plenty of proof but all my friends were 16.17,18, when we got into cars and racing and none of us crashed ever and we were careful. I do understand there are jack asses out there that are young AND VERY VERY STUPID just dont classify all 16 years into the category.

I am sorry for my comments I just don't understand how you can talk about being not mature with name like that on this board, then leaving something like "Have a good day in school." I am going to college for business law and by the time I am out I will be driving something even nicer and deep down I believe that makes you mad! but whatever you don't know me and I don't know you and I leave it at that, when we both have different prespectives on life.
Listen kid, I never said I knew it all, so quit trying to put words in my mouth. And yes, my name is DeeezNuuuts83, so what. I've been using that name for numerous message forums since I was in high school way back in the day, I figured to make it easier on me I'd just keep it the same name rather than making a new screen name for every year that I age. And about my "Have a good day at school" comment, so what? You ARE in school. Nothing wrong with that. But you are really arrogant, and you need to stop throwing your money (whether it's your own hard-earned dough or your parents') in other people's faces, always talking about "driving something even nicer" and other people being jealous about it. No one is jealous about it, you just think they are, and it makes you feel better about yourself. Don't get me wrong, I respect the fact that you are working and are funding your car yourself as you claim, but there is no need to rub that into everyone's faces, especially when you don't know about the success of other people. You don't know anything about my two bachelor's degrees or the progress of my post-graduate studies, do you? Didn't think so, but there's no need to elaborate on that since neither your nor my educational background or socioeconomic status have any bearing whatsoever on driving skills, yet you feel compelled to bring it up in every post. And besides, money isn't everything. Unless you're a *****.

hmmm......looks like this thread is going slightly off topic.

What I wanted to state was that the prices of 03s are cheaper and more affordable. There will be more 'kids' (who can't handle the power or know how to drive) wanting to race you on the freeways or whatever and causing more problems, accidents, death etc.
Then the Evo will be a dime a dozen. Cheapens it

That is exactly what I mean. You make it out like my parents pay for my stuff because I'm young. I am huge ***** then because I don't know about anyone else but I feel money is a huge part of life. More money means you have more time to do things you want and like= happiness. All I asked youu if you had ever driven in snow or knew how drive in it. I don't care any more we could go on like this for days and both prove nothing. I'm just trying to get some respect for being young, affording a car, and knowing my driving limits and where he is going in life. Not everyone young is dump when it comes to driving fast cars.

Even though there are a lot of evos popping up around my area I don't care because it is just someone else to talk about cars with. I like talking to a kid at my school that just bought a evo and he always is asking for my opinion on exhaust,BOV, and other little things that I like to talk about. It is a great car and say if you can get it buy it because they are really enjoyable to drive.

The same goes for any cheaper performance cars. Look at mustangs and f-bodies. Alot of young people have a z28 / trans am / gt these days. These can be had for low teens and aren't awd. I think it's funny how many people think evo's are power gods that are too wild to be tamed. Evo's are awd small displacement turbo cars. They aren't tq on demand tractionless v8 mobiles. Worry more for them .

As far as them apearing more and more, I still rarely see them. The lower production numbers of evo's will keep them somewhat "rare" forever. I see 350z's EVERYWHERE. I would be annoyed if I saw my car driving right beside me that often.
