Which Cams?

I am getting cams next week. Which are the best cams to get? I am also getting a SAFC II. How much power will I make with apexi power intake, 3"downpipe, 3"testpipe, 3"catback, greddy electroni bc set at around 20.5 and the 272's that I will put with the SAFC. If anyone can give me an idea on which cams to get and approx. what type of power I will make with all these mods and also what type of times I will make, I am a very good driver. Thank you

get used to it, people will spend 5x's the amount of time telling people to search and flaming them for not searching then answering a quick question or pointing you in the right direction. BUT, i'm sure if you search your questions will be answered fully.

You don't have to ask in the power train area. If you just search you will find all the info you are looking for and more.

This topic has been covered eleventy billion times that is why he is getting nasty. Because it's a vicious cycle we tell someone to search for the info but, there are 600 threads asking for the info clogging up the 5 threads that actually have information in them.

we (the mod staff) have asked people not to yell search, but under the terms of use members (especially newbies) are supposed to search for an answer before posting something that's been asked a bazillion times before.

search?

Let me suggest a few topics to type into the search window, which will get you all the answers you seek:

which cams
gsc vs hks
new track times
track times cams
cams dyno

Also, check out the "timeslip" section of the registry, which lists people's quarter mile times plus what mods they achieved that time with:

https://www.evolutionm.net/registry/times.php

I agree with you that "no body is born knowing" which is why god (zeus, Brahma the Creator, Allah, Jehovah, the big bang, evolution, whatever you believe) bestowed upon man the greatest physical gift of all: the ability to search J/k

BTW, from personal experience, 05s with cams and supporting mods are running generally mid to low 12's at 109-113mph or so... some more, some less. You also may want to consider some type of tuning beyond the SAFC, which is great but limited...

yeah, the inherent problem with searching on this site is there are a whole hell of a lot of threads just like this one, that seem like they're going to contain useful information, but they don't. You really have to fish through a lot of crap to find the info, but it is out there. That's just a problem with having 40,000+ members all "contributing" to one site like this. This is one of the reasons why the "Registry" section is so useful, and also searching within specific forums. For example, if you are looking for track times, then look in the Drag or Motor Sports forums. There are a lot of ways to narrow down your search and get more accurate information. Unfortunately it takes a lot of trial and error.

I have no idea where you live, but the ABSOLUTE most helpful thing is finding other owners in your area and sharing information. I have the DCEvoClub which is fantastic in that we meet and talk often, and we compare upgrades and mods in person. Even looking around online will get you ok info, but there's nothing like the real thing. Anyway, you've got some good mods there, and should be seeing over 300 at the wheels on a Dynojet. Again let me suggest that you consider some actual tuning above the SAFC to really get the most out of your mods.
