Just a quick question..

The APS bov is supposed to be just a small, flutter for a noise on a stock (except for tbe) evo, correct?

I just wanna make sure, because when I got it... months ago I never messed with anything, I just left it how it came. Its always a flutter under high boost for a noise... I've read flutter is not bad, but it shouldn't flutter, and I have read flutter is what it should be.

Thanks.

Flutter is bad. Mine at WOT shifting is a solid whoosh sound, similar to a sneeze.

Flutter usually is the result "sound" of compressor surge which is bad but sometimes unavoidable with aftermarket BOV's.

sounds like it needs to be adjusted a little tighter, just adjust it a little at a time until it stops fluttering and "pops" open

Hmmm... so should I adjust the spring? I read awhile ago to leave the spring alone...

I figured flutter might be bad... ugh.

Nah, Im sure it can be fixed by adjusting the spring. I just never messed with it, I guess its time now :S.

So even being stock with the bov, besides exhaust... I should get a "whoosh", and no flutter? Is that what I am understanding now?

yep whoosh good, flutter bad if it is compressor surge then its too tight, if its fluttering because its leaking then its to loose, a leak although is usually a high pitch squeel

...btw, to adjust it.. I turn the nut thats on the top of the bov, correct? Or do I have to take it off the car to adjust it?

If so, how much do you think I should turn it? (left?)

on my greddy to adjust it, you loosen the bolt, and then you take an allen wrench at the top of the "screw" and turn it.

Btw, i've tried and tried adjusting my Greddy RS and under low boost it ALWAY flutters.

It should flutter under low boost, correct? Its under high boost that it should "whoosh".

My APS flutters always, whether it be low, or high boost..

Loosen the nut. Then turn in the screw and leave about three threads exposed above the nut after is tightened.

It sounds like we have almost the same mods and that is where mine is set. No flutter. Its why I replaced my stock BOV, under a light load at partial throttle when I let off the gas it would flutter and drove me nuts.
