is my car a lemon? need advice!
ok well...this has been the 3rd time my transfercase has been looked at and replaced by the dealership. I just got it back today to bring it back 5 minutes later because its still whining..its been to the dealership 2x for a reflash for misfiring, and after all that, its still misfiring... now my HIDs are trying to level itself up and down sometimes when i turn them on...and my front defrosters dont work...i dont know what else is gonna break next...the service tech actually told me to just drive my car off a cliff
...what is the policy for a lemon? im the second owner and i bought the car with 18,000 miles and it now has 29,400...any advice?

This site has a bunch of info regarding lemon law for various states. It appears that in Cali the same repair has to be done 4 times or more, but I think there might be more to it then just that. I couldn't find anything regarding whether it only applies to new cars, but that would make sense. Check out the site. Hopefully it helps.

...what is the policy for a lemon? im the second owner and i bought the car with 18,000 miles and it now has 29,400...any advice? They replaced the TC in my EVO 2 times and Repaced Seals in it 1 time.
Orig owner had it replaced due to a noise in OCT 2005..
I bought it in Nov 2005..and put it on the lift before I bought it (w/ 18k miles) and there was a leak from the TC...cool no porb..Warranty will fix it.
S after fighting they replaced it...what do you know...1 week later its leaking again.
ALl the while whining like crazy even w/ the brand new case in it.SO I take it back and they left a seal out from the OCT 2005 replacment that they just didn't see untill after the fact...so they pull it again and replace the seal that was missing on top of that, because the axle has come out so many times they stripped the Tie Rod bolt..so it had to stay a few more days to get that part replaced.
I put it on the lift last night @ work and NO LEAK finally! It still whines pretty bad but I've come to accept that. They have been using the right fluid after checking so I guessits just how this car is.
Other than that stuff the car is fine.Car has 22,xxx miles on it now.
SO your deal is w/ a noise?

As stubborn as Mitsu warranty is on these cars they are losing money buy paying a tech (most likely the same tech) to keep repairing this car @ warranty Pay not customer pay (which is why the deny claims on alot of lancers) so think about it....they get you in a car @ thier dealership (if not bought from there is a big +).they auction yours off and make some money back and you get a car w/o the problems sold to you buy "them".
your happy and they got you for a couple of years in thier car.
I was waiting for mine to leak again but it loosk fine..I put it up to look @ mine last weekend and there was oil on the TC but it seemed to be Residual..once I cleaned it and drove another week its fine.Granted the Whine.
